Ive had this idea for a while but wanted to think it through before i did anything stupid. Bassically i want to get "Dont Worry, Be Happy" written in small black font somewhere but im not sure where. I think its a good motto to live by and a good reminder to let the little things go so i want to be able to see it but i also dont want it to be too obtrusive. Spots ive thought about are: inside of forearm, shoulder or maybe side of the chest region. Let me know if you have tattoos and have advice/suggestions thanks

wrist is a bad place. you'll probably regret it later in life. get it somewhere more easily covered by clothing.

If you're gonna get a tattoo, why then cover it up with clothes? Makes no sense.

True enough but its more of a personal thing, like a motto for my life

Also wrists might be nice, but it would definitely be the inside of them

    maybe that's why i don't have one ;)

you can imagine situations where you might want to cover a tattoo though, can't you?
    job interview?

a lot of people have tattoos that remain covered most of the time.

I'm telling you man, just really think about it. my best friend got a tattoo on the inside of his wrist when he was 18, and REALLY regrets it.

i think the side of the chest sounds better.

My two tattoos are both coverable by long sleeve shirts, and I plan on keeping it that way

Perhaps, but I wouldn't be in a job where I would have to hide my tattoos, just like I would never want to work somewhere with a strict dress code. But it all depends on the person.

I'm not a child, I am older than you. If I don't want to work somewhere where I have to wear a smart suit and shoes, then I won't. It's not the career path I have chosen and it's down to my personality and goals - not age.

Some people are happy to be the 'work' person, and then the 'home' person. I prefer to dress how I feel comfortable. You have to realise people are different.

i gotcha. no offense. IF you happened to 17 or something, i'd suggest you wait til you decide that. and i actually agree with you - i wear a t-shirt and jeans to work everyday.

i see what porkstock is saying

my tattoo is on my wristish area, opposite palm. i don't regret it, but there are times when i wish it was more easily covered, the shape makes it hard for me to get things to cover it. the watch must be huge or the bracelett must not move.

he speaks wisely, i have no regrets, because it is the most perfect thing i could have done to myself

anyway you are young now (to the OP) think wisely. it's your body do what you want with it, but location can be just as important as the picture/words

Wrist is definitely not my top pick right now, either outside of the shoulder or side of the chest but im not sure if theres a better place for it. I dont wanna pick a spot and regret it later thats for sure after putting all this though into it.

EDIT: Goodvibes, i knew that would come up at some point. Yes im 18. Yes im still technically a "teenager" who are perhaps seen as less responsible. However this idea has been lingering in my head for a while, years even. Its one ive though out and its a lesson that i would like to reminded of on a daily basis and throughout my life. Its a small, discreet tattoo that im personally connected with rather than some random cool symbol i found on the internet type-a thing. I wouldnt do this if i didnt think i was completely ready.

that might indirectly lead to STDs.
"don't worry, be happy" might be the last thing he sees, before deciding to bang some girl with a disease. :p

There is a lot of make up out there that covers tattoos really well, if you wanted to.

I have a tat on my wrist as well, and I don't have any regrets, and I work in a very professional workplace.

I say put it on your ass. ;)
