Nothing natural stops my nose problems. I have polyps...

Try a nasal rinse every night.

    colloidal silver.

my boyfriend HAD horrible allergies. he started taking colloidal silver about a year ago.. with in a few days his allergies were no longer bothering him. and so far this year.. nothing.. not a sniffle, not a cough, no itchy eyes, no sore throat.

Very good suggestions so far! I have bad allergies too, and I use generic Zyrtec (Cetirizine) best price is at Rite-Aid, and Walmart has a sale on right now too. I have to take one pill when my allergies act up, or every day during the season.

Zyrtec removes all my symptoms except itchy eyes (pollen still can irritate) very fast within half an hour. On the worse days I might still get a slight headache, but without Zyrtec I'd be completely miserable, stuck in bed, unable to move, body pains, headache, unable to think, stuffed up, etc. you know the drill...

I used to have terrible allergies in the spring and fall. Several years ago I started taking allergy shots. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My symptoms are now very mild.

Allergy shots, the kind that I get, contain no drugs whatsoever. There is nothing in them except trace amounts of the things I am allergic to, which allowed my immune system to gradually adjust to them and build up a normal level of tolerance. This fits the definition of a natural, homeopathic remedy, even though it's available through mainstream ENT specialists. I rarely have a need for antihistamine drugs anymore. :)

I used to have awful allergies when I was a kid. Like the kind where you are up all night coughing for days on end and drug store cough syrup doesn't work, so you have to take really nasty Albuterol cough syrup that they usually reserve for the emphysema patients? Yeah. Like that.
Anyway, I went on allergy pills and they all but destroyed my high school career (among other prescription drugs I was on at the time). The side-effects were awful- I practically slept through my classes. I was a total zombie. Course that's when the only one they had was zyrtec. Then they came out with the lower dose ones and I was okay for a while. If it's unbearable, I would recommend Loratadine. It's the cheapest generic one and it works well enough. If it's not working, you can take up to 4, but the more you take, the more drowsy you get, so beware if you go this route.

Anyway, a few years later, I heard you can grow out of your allergies, so I decided I was going to try and see what I was like without them.
That was the summer, I worked at the Farm Sanctuary. I figured I would give wholesome organic outdoor living for a while. I stopped the pills, went vegan for the summer and my allergies disappeared! It was crazy. Naturally, I had some withdrawal symptoms as my body readjusted to fighting its own battles and rebuilding its immune system, but it worked!
I've gone back to omni (more flexitarian), but I do notice that my allergies are worse when I consume a lot of dairy. It's a pretty obvious link. I haven't stopped it, though. Just cut down.
I also learned that I was unnecessarily avoiding potassium for most of my life (doctor's orders) and the resulting deficiency also played a role in my allergies (did I mention my old doctor was run out of town? lol), not to mention worsened the heart condition that was the reason I was told to avoid potassium in the fist place.
So yeah, I guess what I'm saying is, if it's worth it to you to stay relatively free of drugs, I would suggest trying these lifestyle changes (cut down or even eliminate dairy, track your potassium intake) and seeing if you can tough it out until your body adjusts.
Personally, I had no allergies through winter (usually the dust, pet dander and stuffiness kill me), and spring so far has been a breeze. I think I felt like shit for maybe one or two days, and then I was good. And that was after the thaw and all the old spores were released and the pollen was just starting up...

Wow, you sure it was zyrtec that messed you up? Zyrtec doesn't promote drowsiness at all, it's not that kind of drug. I have zero side effects from it. I do know it's not right for some ppl who don't like it. I think you're mixing it up with the older remedies that had psuedofed (?) that would cause drowsiness. If anything zyrtec might do the opposite, but unlikely since it doesn't work like that. There is a possibility in your case it might've had other effects since you have a heart condition and were taking other meds.

It's great that you got off dairy. It is a major contributor to mucus buildup and allergies. A natural healthy diet, be it vegetarian, vegan, macrobiotic, etc does wonders for your immune system which helps fight all diseases.
