Well, one. Dethklok. Because right now a cartoon that is a parody of metal is actually better metal than any current metal.

But seriously Dethklok is good.

 

A few of my friends are into em. Never listened to em though.

Metal, wouldn't exactly slide them in that slot on any playlist, but you should give Clutch a listen to if ya' haven't already.

Necrophagist, death, suffocation, skeletonwitch, thanatos. If you want some more chillin metal look up Sleep, orange goblin, electric wizard.

 

drudkh - superb black metal. the band started off as burzum clones but since their second album they haven't stopped evolving. Now they play folky black metal w/ nowbhm tinges and wild solos. it rules.

into eternity - probably one of the best prog metal bands ever, buried in oblivion is a masterpiece, seamlessly blending thrash, power and prog metal into a single cohesive beast.

Nevermore - one of my favorite metal bands, dreaming neon black is my fav album of theirs, by they are more or less uniformly good, except for dead heart in a dead world which i find to be extremely overrated. they play very dark power metal.
