Steely Dan isn't really prog rock.

Just mid 70s pop with some basic jazz thrown in.

I disagree - and the jazz thrown in makes it even more progressive. I can listen to Steely Dan for hours and have for the past 30 years.

Oh, I think they have 2 (maybe 3) solid albums. I just, personally, disagree that they are prog. There isn't anything they did that other groups didn't do 3, 4, 5 or more years ago.

Reelin' in the Years... reminds me of the good old days in high school getting stoned and being with good friends.

Steely Dan Fans might like Percy Hill. Now defunct, their 1999 album "Color in Bloom" was simply amazing.

Do It Again is an incredibly epic song.

Unfortunately I find the band pretty bland aside from that. I like Josie and Home At Last but that's about it aside from Do It Again.

However I just can not deny how awesome Do It Again really is. The solos are awesome, what is that an electric sitar?
