http://www.phanphest.com/ Zach Deputy, Splintered Sunlight, U-melt, Juggling Suns, more. Snipes farm is a great venue, one of the coolest in the Northeast. Groovin Lumens will be providing visual assault to melt your eyeballs. Tickets are only $60. Support one of the kindest promoters in the scene. Drew and crew are awesome in all that they do.
Will there be fun stuff there? To make the show more interesting, cause I haven't heard of these people. But I like hearing new things and meeting new people. Getting turned on would be nice too,
Trust me the line-up is stacked with regional and local talent, all the fun you need. But you can bring your own fun and share with others. My favorites: Cabinet Codename U-melt The indobox Jimkata Turtle soup Juggling Suns Splintered sunlight
An hour, that's rich. This place is so in a city, I bet you can take a bus. (its in but yet somehow out of a city. Weirdest setup I've ever seen. You can actually hear the highway. We stay in a hotel a mile away when we go. But yet its secluded and tucked away at the same time. Quite a unique setting.)
Can you get in for free? Cause I'm broke. I could probably scround up bus money. But at the same time I'm not trying to go to a festival by myself and just sit on a towel bobbing my head like a social retard all day
This is such a very small festival I guarantee you you will know the names of dozens of people by the end. And its not free, Its a little more than I would normally pay to see a fest at snipes, but worth it.
Wonka - yes a little more than most snipes parties, but I'd argue that its a little more robust lineup than you're used to at snipes. Plus Drew is going the extra mile with production, both for families during the day and for the freaks at night. I've been working with these guys for a long time and they run a great show. Dude, if you sneak in and I catch you, I will empty your pockets, take your shoes, and lock you in a port-o-john - if I'm feeling nice. I won't tell you what other people have done when they catch thieves at a festival. The people who throw these festivals, ESPECIALLY the small ones, don't make a lot of money. Hell, more times than not they're shelling out of their own pocket just so you can have a good time. This festival (and many more of similar size and nature) is one of the best values for a weekend of entertainment you can get. You have any idea what bands cost? Sound and light? Insurance? Do you know how much a fucking Port-o-john cost to rent for the weekend? Get your sorry ass a J-O-B or start collecting bottles and cans. Would you break into a house and clean them out? Because that's just what you said you wanted to do to my friends. They work hard all year and barely scratch out a living to make these events happen. Any douche-bag who tries to sneak in to an event like this is nothing more than a dirty thief. If you're really broke and you still really want to go, there are LEGITIMATE ways to earn your ticket. Massive promotions, selling tickets, volunteering to park cars, clean up, recycle, the list goes on and on. I can't remember the last time I paid for a festival ticket, but I've always earned my keep, usually many times over. Just don't steal. Ever. Especially from those who work so hard just to put a smile on your face.
I get what you're saying, it makes since. But I'm not feeling the level you decided to come at me on. I'm really tempted to do it anyway just to make you back up that bullshit you're talking. I lived in the ghetto my whole life and never been robbed before. Aint gonna happen from some festival hippy. I get your point, but don't be a dickhead about it.
Its in my nature. I'm a dickhead. I can't help it. You're right, I'm usually too harsh. BUT, I feel very strongly about the topic. There can be a very lax sentiment when it comes to forking over cash for events like this, and I think its important for people to understand the hard work and little, if any, profit that comes from putting on these kinds of shows. Dickhead or not, I think I made my point and we don't have to have this discussion again. Trust me its a big deal. I've seen fests get ruined because to many people thought they were entitled. This doesn't necessarily hold as true when you're talking about Livenation. They're out to fuck you hard every chance they can. Stealing from them is almost justice. (I say almost, because 2 wrongs don't make a right, when it boils right down to it, and theft is theft in the end) So, sorry to be such a dick, if you do make it out this summer, be sure to come to my booth and chat, I'm really not that bad in person.
It's all good man. Like I said, I get where you're coming from. I guess I just look at shows from a woodstock POV. lol, what percentage of the people there actually paid to see it?
Lets Get a Roll Call, this is only 4 days away! I'll be lighting the tent and assisting the main stages this time around. Happy Hoops booth will be in full effect also. Come say high!
