i know just one action - it's personal and direct and to the heart of the enemy . you know how to use that sort of arrow ? i'm sure you do know the enemy when confronted face-to-face . what do you do ? if you want peace and freedom - what do you do that is consistent with peace and freedom ? it's done exactly in the moment of that confrontation .

maybe jesus had a profound suggestion - love your enemy . actually , it seems to work but weirdly so .

I agree with Bill Hicks ... but only when it comes to feeding the hungry and clothing the naked. The space exploration kick is simply an overpriced boondoggle, because it only takes much-needed resources away from more important projects. It would be great if they could drop all funding for space exploration, and use that same money for more immediate concerns, such as planting trees and forests, and also for implementing more intelligent methods of waste disposal, such as composting.

 

I agree that we should love an "enemy," but I would qualify that statement by saying that we should only love an enemy who isn't trying to kill us and our families. It goes without saying that we should love the "boogey man" and the all the rest of them, whom we are being TOLD is our enemy; however, if we extend our love to the REAL ENEMY who is trying to kill us, then we might as well just commit suicide.

Your enemy wants you to love him, because it only makes his job of killing you a whole lot easier.

the enemy as ugly features like a demon, you must not be scared when you see them face to face..

anybody who would rally behind this, probably has a part of their brain missing.

Most people like where they are at in life.. There is too much history, to create a new system..

the most you can do is educate yourself, being in direct conflict with the system, is still being part of that system.. go beyond that, learn

The first step in doing anything against this madness we are living is to awaken and realize it is madness. The next step is to open the eyes of those you care about and then the rest of the fucking sheep. This is exactly what I wrote in the quote you somehow misunderstood.
And in case you were unaware this government does belong to its people. The masses, not the politicians and authoritative figureheads who have placed themselves as rulers of this FREE country.
Also, just because you have given up hope does not mean the rest of us should. People like you are everywhere and get on my damned nerves. You are not helping anything so just go be alone somewhere and concern yourself not with the tribulations of the human race.

 

@intellectual curious: I Love America. I Love the very concept of freedom and what our forefathers did was the most revolutionary act in human history. That being said the rights that our ancestors died for and the freedoms outlined in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution are, in fact, being stripped away. One only has to read the Patriot Act to get a clear view of this. I have also seen first hand the broken way in which our justice system deals with these "rights" and "freedoms" as I am sure many on this website have.

I wonder if you have ever thought about what it means to be FREE. In the current system that is in place in America we are only free to a degree. Compared to a lot of other countries that degree is huge, but the fact remains that we here are not free. If you really think about it almost every single aspect of your life is governed. And if you look at history from 1776 to present our Freedoms and Rights have been lessened and lessened while the speed at which our rights deteriorate increases. So that now in 2010 we are the most controlled we have been since we shrugged off the oppression of the English Crown and this will only get worse as time passes. Until the day comes when the people shrug again.

the enemies i personally meet are of the this culture , threaten violence , seems to demand a national cultural uniformity . a world culture uniformity is a bigger fuk than that .

 

so far america has spent anything up to 5 trillion dollars marching around the middle east being used to bring on the messianic period as foretold by some religious maniac.

the american people don't need to get angry or violent, the mechanisms for a peaceful transfer of power from insane dictator to informed and wise government already exist - they just need to vote idiots out.

think of it as baby steps

bush was removed from office

obama was installed but had the same advisors as bush

the next step will be not voting obama or allowing the same advisors to keep america at war in the middle east.

its not going to be easy, you have too many fanatics who are very happy that america is exhausting its brainpower and manpower in a quest that has no end.

i mean really, if america pulled out of the middle east tomorrow what would it matter? the doomsayers will tell you its very bad ( but only for them). you can't change the manner of the middle east but you can hold it at arms length and not get involved with tribal wars that those people always seem happy to fight.

christianity, judaism and islam are middle eastern religions, listen to their followers and you'll become penniless in no time at all.

This country ceased being fair or free when the majority took it upon themselves to vote away rights that had been granted by the government to a minority group. I am sorry but I have no respect for a country that puts the rights of one person up to a vote without the revocation of those rights applying to all. This country has a long way to go before it is seen as a free nation, and in my mind it has never been one.
