when are you buying weed from coffeshop the service asks to show documents that your 18+ years old? and when i buy weed do i have to smoke it in the coffeshop or i can take it and go home? what is the tradicions in amsterdams coffeshops?
they do ask you to show ID, at least they did when i went to buy coffee (yeah embarrasing) but the people who work there are extremetely nice, at least the place i went to. you can buy stuff there and smoke it in the coffeeshop, that's what they're there for! or you can take it with you, after all you're paying for it! It's great cos you get to choose from a varied menu and they sell you high quality stuff and you can even smoke it there with friends while you sip a cup of coffee. that's heaven for stoners i tell ya. have a good trip!

ehm.. you're 15 years old.. we've had that discussion on this forum before about minors going into a coffeeshop. If you want to smoke it's your choice.. but if you go into a coffeeshop while being under aged you're putting the place at risk of being shut down. There's a thread on that here somewhere.. really.. don't go in a coffeeshop.. respect the place and the people that want to chill there! If you want to have some weed, ask some friendly tourists to buy it for ya..
Couldn't have said it better myself. Just respect the going regulations and laws we have here - just be happy to even be able to smoke weed legally here. There will be plenty of people willing to buy some for you if you ask friendly enough, I have done so myself plenty of times. Regarding just buying weed and not staying in the shop to smoke it? It's what I do most of the time, don't worry about that - it's as commonplace as can be, and people generally won't mind at all.
IMO, the best place to get weed are any of the 3 Greenhouse coffee shops. Other good places are De Dampkring, Grey Area or Tweede Kamer.
yeah, greenhouse is known to be the best... they've won several awards... coffeeshops are like a mcdonalds... you can either smoke there or take it with you, doesn't matter... if you're under 18 sometimes they will give you grass, but they won't let you stay to smoke in there...
hmm sounds interesting...well im going to amsterdam on vacation this next summer and just had a question. Are the coffee shops very easy to find, i mean i won't have to much time to get away from my parents and ask strangers to buy me stuff, so just wandering if there easy to find and if there are many of them available in the larger populated areas?
In the center of the city they're very easy to spot - trust me, you won't miss them.
