Why can't I seem to find a good pizza place in any city I travel to? I travel for my job and I enjoy it but the service is horrible at every pizza place that delivers to my hotel(s). I'm not racist and I'm not prejudice in anyway. But the foreign delivery drivers really get to me the most. One thing that really pisses me off and it's always the foreign drivers. They try and take your money and run. Especially if I order from my hotel room. I'll order something and lets say it comes out to $21 and all I have is $40. I'll let the store know so the driver brings change. But every driver seems to just mumble something to me and walk away real fast. Then I tell them to give me my money and don't tip them. I'll tip well, but I'll only tip them if they act like they want to give me money back or act surprised like they are surprised that I'm tipping them. Now, I'm not bitching about this because I'm upset at the drivers etiquette, it goes further than that. This is what happened last week: I was in Los Angeles, CA. I don't remember the name of the place I ordered from but I heard they had good food. Which they did. But I ordered a medium pizza and a 2 liter of soda. When I got it, the delivery driver who barely spoke english, hands me my pizza and my 2 liter. But my 2 liter was half dranken out of. It was very obvious and the guy acted like it was no big deal. I asked him what was up with my soda and tried to give it back to him to bring me a new soda. He kept trying to give it back and could only say "this is yours". I tried to explain to him what was wrong and I kept pointing at the line in the middle of the bottle where to soda obviously ended. He just stood there and giggled. He really had no idea what I was trying to say. Or at least he acted like it. I paid him and told him to bring me a new coke and I closed the door. Then I called the store and they first tried to tell me that I never ordered any drink. Then they pulled up my account and realized I did. But they told me the driver couldn't bring me a new soda because they are busy and are closing soon. They I asked for a credit but got hung up on. When I called back, they didn't believe that happened. Then I got hung up on again. 5 minutes later, they called me back because the delivery driver told them he forgot my drink. Which isn't exactly what happened. Maybe it is, and the driver was hoping he could fool me by giving me his drank out of soda. But the store told me they would come back in 20 minutes with a soda and would throw in some breadsticks for me. 2o minutes roll by and they don't show. I wait for 20 more minutes and call back. Turns out the store was closed and I never got my drink or bread sticks they owed me. I left the next day and went off to NYC for another business trip. I ordered pizza again (I fucking love pizza) a couple nights later in New York. I hear NYC has some of the best pizza in the US and I was recommended a certain place by the hotel receptionist. So I called them. I was told 45-50 minutes but it took them 1 1/2 hours. When I got the pizza it was cold and the slices were all over the place. Like the driver didn't have it in a bag and just held onto it upside down or on the side. I called the store and sure enough, the lady wouldn't listen to me and kept saying "your pizza's fine. I made it myself. I know its fine." and hung up on me. I never have problems with the people who speak decent/good english but this seems to happen a lot with the foreign employees. The stoner kid delivery drivers always do a good job. We need more of them around instead of the old guys who don't speak english.
