They both suck... especially the Beatles. Seriously, no one in their right mind listens to that crap.
how do i feel? i think you must have just started your journey of musical discovery. i was way into those guys, too... when i was 13. do yourself a favor and try not to get caught up in all the really big names and holding onto the assumption that bands from that era are the best that have ever been around. sure, they're great... i listen to them from time to time myself... but there is definitely more sonically pleasing material out there... you just hafta look for it.
^^^Yes, you are obviously very mature and musically evolved. It is also true that you do not really have good taste in music until you listen to music that nobody else likes.
How do i feel???? Masters of the art always at their best, cant say much, i respect them. Love some of their music, dont like some of their music, its 50/50. alot of respect for that.
I really like Pink floyd, and absolutely love some of their work. I really don't enjoy the Beatles' sound or performance, but have the utmost respect for their writing (and Paul)
this is why there is a seemingly infinite amount of bands. why get caught up on one of them? even two? much less, two of the biggest most commercially viable bands that aren't even making music anymore. i believe that is part of growing up... to leave the interstate and hit the gravel roads, so to speak. i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or what. i wouldn't normally care, but it's 3am and i'm waiting for an album to download... which means i am supremely bored.
in 1967, both bands were in Abbey Road studios at the same time, each recording albums that would become psychedelic classics and eventually be highly influential on the future Prog scene. Three years later, one band had split and the other had replaced its leader and changed its style radically (and would do so again after a few more years) Hippy music wouldn't be the same without them. Even if you hate them, you probably like bands who wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for these two huge bands. Personally, I've been a big Pink Floyd fan since about 1972 - not so bothered about their later output. On the other hand, I'm not bothered about the Beatles' earlier output, but I really like their later years.
I love both bands, I usually go through phases of listening to any band but i've just gone back into a Beatles phase again. In terms of the stuff I listen to. The Beatles: Rubber soul onward. Pink Floyd: Piper at the gates of dawn, then Meddle up through The Wall (basically the 70's)
The Beatles and Pink Floyd revolutionized music and culture in so many ways. They've led me to discover real music later on in life from listening to both bands extensively in my childhood. Both bands mean a lot to me.
I love the beatles.. Dont like pink floyd at all. But thats just my taste but I also tend to like simon and garfunkle, creedence clearwater revival, the monkees, and a host of other bands. I dont believe anyone should have to stick to one genre, I like reggae, and oldies like aretha franklin and smokey robinson, etc. I like a variety of music.
You have excellent taste in music.Re Pink Floyd,I like their 1st 2 albums and some of Syds solo stuff.
Hell yes...Get back by them is awesome...It seems Pink Floyd is less mainstream, while the beatles are like WOAH how have you not heard them yet? Both are Gods.
