I've always very thick hair, it's a trait me and my sister picked up. However maybe I have just been too damn high lately. But not only do I see an abundant amount of my hair come out in the shower and on my floor, but I noticed more scalp exposure, and far lighter hair. About a month and a half ago I switched from natural and organic shampoo to a popular modern conventional brand. Could this be the reason? If not what are other possibilities. Also should be noted that I very often have diarrhea. About every other shit I take is so, of course accompanied by stomach pains. Maybe its from the lack of quality food at my school, or maybe it's my system cleaning out, maybe I'm just getting healthier. I don't know. Any ideas?
I knew a dude whose hair loss was diagnosed by a doctor to be from stress. His hair came out in patches. It grew back when he finally figured out how to chill...It was mostly stress from work.
maybe consider supplementing biotin i've heard iron is also linked to it but that is less likely depending on what your diet is like
you could have a gluten intolerance or some other allergy (dairy) that is leading to intestinal irritation (diarrhea) and thus loss of nutrient absorption can cause hair loss. IBS, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease
And if the loss / thinning is even it could be related to a fungi which can live on the scalp and clog hair follicles. I've read one treatment for this is Tea Tree oil. Looked into it cuz' I've got the Jack Nicholson syndrome and the Friar Tuck patch. Thank God for Whal clippers!
You could have Telogen effluvium. It's temporary hair loss that can be caused by an over consumption of Vitamin A, too much stress, not enough exercise, not enough nutrients in your diet... I recommend eating Avocados, Wheat Germ, Raw unsalted sunflower seeds, take multi-vitamin, fish oil for omega 3 Make sure you're getting enough sleep and sleeping at the appropriate hours (12-8 is ideal) 1) Biotin (oats, lentils, soybeans, green peas, brown rice, sunflower seeds or supplement) 2) B-Vitamins (beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, soy beans, bran, eggs) B-Complex with the addition of extra B3*, B5* and B6 is a good idea * = most important 3) Vitamin C (if you can find dissolvable in water kind, prob the best) 4) Vitamin E 5) zinc 6) L-Cysteine and L-methionine supplement(s) 7) A low fat diet also helps, although good fats you get from avocado, coconut, olive oil are more than okay 8) Silica Shampoo (find online or sold at GNC stores I believe) - I use Jason natural shampoo 9) Avoid mega doses of Vitamin A (if you aren't taking medication with it in there, or huge doses of supplements with it, you're okay) - this is 100% reversable 10) Rogaine Foam maybe 11) Eat more veggies Get rid of dairy and gluten in your diet if you can I have the same issue. My hair has started to grow back
I had something similar a year ago with stomach pains and thinning hair and think it was just stress. I was working too much with not enough sleep and my diet was crappy. Hope you figure it out.
stay away from sodium lauryl/ laureth sulphate, that stuff will make your hair fall out you'll find in some "organic" shampoos too its a cheap and nasty chemical
