pink floyd or led zeppelin?

I would give 1st place to Led Zeppelin..They are better!

 

as far as their honing of their instruments, no doubt Zep beats out Floyd... but Floyd just has a much wider array of music, and more tunes and albums I'd rather hear than Zep.

 

Yea i gotta agree with almost everyone else...i like floyd a lot but zeppelin is just above and beyond them...

 

I don't know why anybody is bothering to compare them? It's like comparing Run D.M.C. and Pearl Jam. Two great bands, two different styles of music. Apples and oranges.

Depends on the mood. I was raised with Floyd in the house, but I certainly enjoy the Zeppelin.

 

hmmmmm well its a hard choice this one...

I love them both! But I think that Jimmy Page's (young) extreeeeeeeeeme sexiness all the time, esp. when playing a mean solo really pushes them over the line... I swear that mans guitar playing does something to me

On the other hand, I love that Pink Floyd's music has this mystery about it and so many layers and interpretations. Very D & M.

 

i think why they are often compared is that they are two huge names from the same time that were both experimental and liberating - yet in different ways. and also because, as we can see, their are two types of hippies (hahaha) - "the pinkfloyd first"
and the "One nation Led Zeppelin "...music is political in its own right!
But "The Wall" is awesome to watch over and over...fantastic imagery and metaphor and so forth..bla bla (too much freakin uni in my head)

 

I LOOOOVE both bands muchly, but Led Zeppelin wins the prize!
