Unable to open .exe files/applications (such as msn and itunes), what can I do

    Every time I click on something like msn or itunes, I am asked to "Choose the program you want to use to open this file."

    I do not get it.

    So what can I do so I can open these things again, because they will not open.

    are you absolutely positive you're trying to open the .exe files? 100% sure they are not empty files?

    reinstall itunes and so forth, see if that helps.

    I figured it out. There was something wrong with the registry. I got a regedit cleaner online and it scanned the registry for problems and fixed them. sweet! I can open my msn, itunes and wmp, etc. again!
