So a few xmases ago I received this white hooded sweatshirt and haven't really worn it much because white just isn't a color i wear. it gets stained too easily and it's just boring like a blank canvas. and i want to dye it. my question is.. well look:

(the torso part and hood have another extra thermal layer, but the sleeves and pockets are just 80% cotton 20% polyester... i don't really think getting dye into the thermal part would be great because it would just suck it up, right?)

anyway what would YOU do with this thing?

that will suck up a ton of dye, and that 20 percent poly will make a faded look.
Could still look awesome, but the dye will be costly.
what about some of the fabric paints that are sprayed on?

I know what you mean, I have a similar hoodie that's nice but...well, white's just not really me. I've used acrylic paint on some of my boring clothes (directly painting designs and stuff with a paintbrush), that or you could tie dye it! That would look wicked tie dyed :)

1)take an old beat up favorite shirt and cut the picture off. hand stitch it on the back in a bright thread color contrasting the fabric of the Tee material, then add a few patches

    2) take a LOT of different patterned & solid 1-2 inch strips of material that look good together, and sew them into a stripey trippy pattern

    3) fabric paint markers are wonderful on these types of things, and most craft stores have RIDICULOUS amounts of stencils so you get exactly the design you want

or just go to the craft/fabric store and see what strikes your fancy :)
