my first trip to amsterdam going in late jan. early feb. 05 i know not best time for weather but only chance i have "vacation time" gotta use it or lose it .but what should i expect to pay for rooms ? will they be cheapier in the off season?doesnt really matter im still going ! lol any info would be nice this is also my first overseas trip . i live in kansas city area so weather will be bad here too.
Cold, wet, windy and possibly snowy - The rooms are cheaper at that time of year, personally I love Amsterdam in the snow Jon
On the good side there are far less tourists about at that time of year and you can always get a seat in wherever you go!
I always go in Feb and pay 35 Euros for bed & breakfast, smack bang in the centre. As it's off peak it's possible to just turn up and get a room there and then without booking. This way you can sometimes barter for a cheaper price like requesting a room with a view or paying less if you decide not to have their breakfast, etc.
how bout the weed ? will there be the good stuff in jan. ? i know its the off season can i expect the same quality as in summer time?
The weed and the hashish are always of the highest quality no matter the time of year in Amsterdam. As long as you go to one of the better shops you will not be disappointed.
