i have my laptop on the kitchen counter. keeps me in the middle of work and i can't sit down.

  6. My kitchen's the size of a shoebox so I can't use my laptop in there. I changed my spare (guest, junk etc.) room into an office and it's so fucking cold in winter that I don't use my computer half as much as I would like. It's not bad when I'm cooking though because I leave the 2 doors open and the heat from the stove kind off wafts through. That's a lie, its carried by a force 9 gale that's usually coming through my totally unsuitable and uninsulated kitchen window. :;):

we have a ridiculously huge kitchen. i like it. everyone piles up in the kitchen whether it's big or small, so i'll take a huge kitchen. i'm tired of being wedged ina corner.

If I compared the size of my kitchen to that of a postage stamp, it would make my kitchen seem bigger than it actually is. It's taken me years to figure out how to bake/cook successfully without getting so stressed out I want to punch a hole in the wall.

American kitchens are lovely! Even the 'small' ones are big compared to small kitchens here in England. When I'm bored and watch the shows from the States where people are buying houses or trying to redecorate I tend to get a bit excited when seeing the huge kitchens with loads of workspaces. *fans self to calm down*

Yeah, I haven't even filled all the cabinets, double sink, dishwasher, center island, y'all ceilings. Were gonna build a full bar on one side since we eat at the center island.

it's totally why we bought the house. that and the vaulted ceilings (including in the basement), my office, the enormous yard, the freaking huge bathtub and the fact that it was cheap because the market was down. HAHA! foreclosures. the guy who owned it wanted to set up a rental neighborhood. thankfully he lost all of them and families bought the rest.

The concept of vaulted ceilings in a basement confuses me. But, that is something easily done. Your house sounds lovely.

the vaulted ceiling in the basement is a freaking riot, really. people look at it like "wtf? why's that here?" i've never lived in a big house before. i highly recommend it to anyone who can do it.
