    Is this normal?!

my temples (ie part of my head, not actual temples) itch a lot.

Never heard of that before - but if other body parts can itch, why not your temples.

Electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) has been known to cause the temples to itch

I actually know someone who had that done, and it cured the depression. but he is definitely not the same personality as before, kind of surreal happy now

believe it or not, he is actually more animated now. he's also in his 60s or 70s. I was just shocked that procedure is still in use at all

Electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) is still used??
that's really scary. I don't think I would ever allow someone to do that to me, or a loved one. Seems painful and ... kind of a torture :(

Yep. But sadly, you might not get a say in whether you have it or not!

it seems dated to me so I was really surprised.. but the guy had chronic depression and anxiety, took xanax for 12 years straight or so along with a bunch of other drugs. eventually the drugs induced psychosis and I'm not sure if the ECT was done against his will or not.

Probably just acts that way because he's terrified they'll do it again.

Ever read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? Good book.

yes I have, more than once. one of my favorite films as well. one of my dad's west coast girlfriends actually works in the hospital from the film. and the fucked up thing about this situation is the guy genuinely endorses this practice now.
