Social gatherings SUCK. Ive had my fair share, and ive learned a few things from them.

Act as if you were hosting your own Talk Show. Ask questions you dont really care to know, and seem interested and keep it going. Take something before hand. Weed may make things worse, my suggestion is Klonapins, Xanax, Opiates, etc.

Believe that the night will end soon, and just get in "social" mindstate.

Whether it's actually his girlfriend is pure speculation. Frankly I think the shit would ultimately work in his favor considering that the sum total of his posts show that he's an alright kid with a hell of a sense of humor and some guts. I seriously doubt this is of a magnitude that would send him away for long.

The thing is-- the kid's smart- real smart...but not completely educated... yet. It's an ongoing process that lasts an entire lifetime. You see, none of us really are thoroughly versed in the school of life. Hell it took me half a normal lifetime to realize that the people who really matter aren't going to give a flying fuck about trivial things... like a few posts on a discussion board for instance.
