Is there a proper sewing forum or does it go in here with the clothes section? Either way, I'm brand new to sewing. I just purchased a secondhand sewing machine so I can play around and make some fun stuff. Anyway, is it ok to put faux fur through a basic Singer sewing machine? Thx in advance. =)
Yeah, sewings like anything else, you have to practice to get better. Re faux fur, it depends on the thickness of the fabric. If it's difficult to place under the foot to start it's very unlikely that it will sew successfully. You don't want to fuck your new toy right at the start!
Hmm. it is quite long. :S And you are right.. I don't want to hurt my new baby. What to do... what to do. I haven't tried to put it under yet, but that will be my next step. Thank you kindly. =)
If you are sewing something thick, use a longer stitch length. Go slow and be careful, or you may break a needle and/or throw your timing off.
