my friend is possibly getting me ritalin (its for my birthday present, and he cant really get anything else, tried to get me adderall but it didnt work out) i say possibly because i have no idea what the dosage is so if its a bad deal then im gonna have him find something else it's going for $3/pill, so what would be a normal amount for that? (like mg per pill) also does it matter if it's instant release or not? is one more common than the other? i want to snort them, but isnt it harder to snort the IR ones because you have to break up the beads? (sorry for all the dumb questions, i dont know anything about ritalin or any of that)
The rits I use to take were 10 mgs. dose from 15-40 mgs is good for starter. Id say snort it if its not IR. The comedown is a bitch tho.

Ritalin for me just doesnt seem like something that would be enjoyable to take recreationally. What are the effects like?
well im not really buying it... my friend is getting it for me for a birthday present (hes getting me 4 for $20). i didnt really want ritalin but it was the only drug he could get me... and i figured it would at least be useful here in college im definitely not planning on taking it recreationally, just to get work done because i procrastinate like crazy. my friend takes it recreationally (earlier this week he snorted 100mg to do homework, then another 50mg the next morning to avoid the crash, and then another 100mg after school). i dont see the point in taking that much at all though
So its just to slow down and stay focused? Does Ritalin "slow you down" or is it more like an amphetamine with the increased energy and focus?
Is concerta the same stuff and what's ritalin's recreational value, or is it only good for ADHD and exams?
extended release is the shit, but i think most people like instant better...i just like to focus longer its very much like an amphetamine...and therefore it CAN cause amphetamine psychosis....be careful sorry to be your mom...i use add meds and am prescribed them...though i am not getting them right now...likewise i have seen about five friends progressively go crazy from add meds...most are fine now, not all of them though.
Yes Concerta and Ritalin are both methylphenidate. It's good for giving you lots of energy, kinda like cocaine and/or amphetamines.
id rather just money, i always got super depressed on the come down with ritalin. also you will end up being hungry but have no apetite what so ever, i look at ritalin as a curse like the one from pirates of the carribean haha.
Seems reasonable, though I hadn't heard of the 50mg pill. From what I hear, you should snort 10-30mg'ish and go from there...
It's probably not Ritalin. There are other brands of methylphenidate that go up to 60mg, but they are extended-release.
vyvanse which works, but is the worst of the ones on the market in my opinion goes up to fuckin 70 mg it starts at 20 goes to 30, 50 and ends at 70 and its the shit that cause most of my friends to go crazy. it is the same drug that caused me to feel like i had a minor heart attack and prompted me to quit add meds for about a year 50 is too fuckin high i'm sorry but amphetamines are scary shit...and i like that kind of stuff, but i am also honest with myself and my body...and therefore i keep lecturing in this thread i apologize, well not really
^^^Vyvanse isn't methylphenidate though. It's lisdexamfetamine. It's probably Concerta, which goes up to 54mg. Or Metadate, which comes in 10mg to 60mg, including a 50mg capsule.
