What do you think will happen to the Hippie culture when Marijuana is legalized?

I think a big draw factor of Marijuana is the culture that comes with it, but something that turns people away is it's legality status. If THC is open to more people, do you think the small sub-culture be destroyed?

 

there is no "one" mj culture

as far as "hippie culture," that does not rest its foundation on mj so i think the question is irrelevant

 

Someday when it happens a lot of the crowd who are 'hippies' only by merit of being enormous potheads who hang out with hippies to stay connected will drop out of the 'scene' so to speak; and it'll probably overall be a good thing.

And honestly I went through about a 12 year break from smoking pot and kind of got known as being an Anti-hippie Hippie. It's not the cats that are out there for real that bug me they don't take themselves too seriously and are capable of intilligent conversation. I get kind of sick of Militant Vegans, and 420-24-7 types. I know 2 completely different extremes. But honestly I get sick of long one sided discussions on why humans shouldn't eat meat and animal products (by the way human intestines are too long to eat just meat and too short to eat just vegitation. Proportionately a rabbit has longer intestines than humans. Also the only thing that can break down cellulose is a bacteria that only live in the intestines of pure herbavores i.e. not humans.). Sorry I got off on a rant there. Or Hey man got any dope. Maybe then people will stop looking at me and talking to me like I'm brain dead or only know monosybalic words.

So yes I think legalization will cause a lot of the Parasite Hippies to drop off the scene and good riddance.

I think nothing special will happen to the associated subcultures. The peeps who are in it because it's cool to do illegal stuff can easily be missed I guess.

 

i have to say i don't think anything will really change
the kids who do it to be cool will still do it because it will still be illegal to minors

 

I think some ppl will b really PISSED when mj is legal....but other than that things will stay pretty much the same

 

I know it probably won't affect me in the slightest... mainly because I already promised myself not to take any mind altering substances...

I'm not against them or anything, I just don't think they're right for me.

Other than that, I have a suspicious feeling all hell will break loose... Not sure how, but I definately got a feeling.

 

God will come in a silver chariot and make us all feel so high we it wont even matter that it's legal.

 

Pot is definitely not limited to hippie culture anymore. Ive met quite a few straight laced people who will smoke pot and some who don't are fairly indifferent to it. Conversely I know many who might affiliate themselves with hippie culture and/or values who never or rarely use pot such as myself.

 

Anymore? Shit, it's not like they fucking invented weed. Hippies get way too much credit for accomplishing absolutely nothing.

I lie, the vast explosion of anti-psychotic and anti-depressant medication being spoonfed to every man woman or child for the stresses of sometimes having to think about life I think is partly due to "the man's" reaction to all their rabble rousing.

I think nothing will really happen to the hippie culture because it's not really about marijuana or any other drugs hippie is about peace,love and happiness which don't have to include the drugs.
