Recently, I'd talked with someone about the general nature of Ketamine. Once, I had read an article that compared dissociative psychedelics to others as "death" while others, such as LSD, are "life." I agree with this; SW(um...)IM went through a K phase back in the day. Actually, it was the first drug they'd tried. The trips are fun, but they possess a dark undertone, although that doesn't necessarily mean bad. The way one's becomes dissembled and disembodied (thus the name dissociative) always felt comparable to a psychedelic-induced death, escaping the confines of yourself almost. If you (or SWIM ) have done K, what was the general nature of your trip(s) like?
just a side comment: if you like the dark aspect of ketamine, have you ever tried 2ce? that has a dark character to it too, but is more like classical psychedelics than a dissociative
I absolutely 100% agree OP. Ketamine to me reeks of the essence of death. What is this incredible thing i can buy that looks like ground up crystal bones, tastes like toxicity, burns your flesh, and you snort it, and it makes you go to the land of the dead. ketamine is not a state of mind; it is a place. consciousness is does not feel altered at the k hole; rather it is your surroundings and sense of being. you are disembodied consciousness, with no sense of scale you fluctuate between feeling smaller than a molecule and larger than a galaxy, which adds to the death effect; this is not a phenomena of the living, you feel this in your own bones, fittingly
Yes, it is quite similar and I don't have the ability to put into words the differences. just a different place for both. dxm was not death like ketamine. it was something else.
Yah I agree with the OP ketamine does definitley have an undertone of death, and the traditional psychs and 2c's have undertones of life. I even have said somewhere else at just below a sub k hole dose when i get up and try to walk, the loss of motor coordination makes me think of like an elderly person, where I'm thinking and trying to send my body messages, but they just aren't working as effective as i wish. As Opposed to mushrooms, Mescaline and LSD there is often a childlike quality to the world, like it's filled with wonder and possibilities once again. That's not to say the traditional psychs can't have a dark edge to them, as often mushrooms for me do and porkstock said 2ce. It's very different to the darkness of the dissassociatives like Ketamine.
since I discussed the nature of k already I want to add something. When I built up a tolerance to k i stopped "tripping" off it and it kind of turned on me. Even when I went into k holes it was all about the sensation, there was no substance to the experience. I've always found with the traditional psychs I can be artistic ( play guitar) or incorporate the experience into my life and that whole death aspect of k becomes exactly that, you just try to be unconsious for an hour, kind of reminded me of how people describe heroin.
ketamine: the dark truth of things. ketamine and the music of Amon Tobin are great together for this reason.
Well, with k and l I can still function for most part. Even though it can get strange as hell. With nitrous I get a stupid grin, and kinda sit there marveling at how beautiful everything is for a few minutes.
Jesus fucking christ I need to k-hole. I never tried it, but I know this chick who offered it to me once. We always had different taste in drugs, so I said no at the time... but damn. I'm ready. I might hit her up.
i love doing nitrous with acid, one time i did some bloons while i was candyflipping. it was incredible.
^ Indeed and then about 15 mins into the K this Dj spins a remix of Radiohead's 'Everything in It's Right Place' i'm lucky my head is still attached to my shoulders after that.
setting is important in a k hole, you want to be lying down comfortably eyes closed dark room with surround sound headphones to help the illusions of space that will unfold (sound coming from different directions in a k hole give you powerful headscapes)
