It's a nasty facility, with trucks spilling dead and dying birds all over the county's roads. I wouldn't eat sick animals like that even if I did eat meat. The locals hate the plant with a passion, because they import nearly all of their workers illegally from Mexico and lay them off after a few weeks, leaving hoards of people who don't speak a word of English and know nothing about the area unemployed and stranded in the bloody midwest! I just received a rumor that the plant is closing. I looked up information online, and all I found was a string of Tyler Durden-esque sabotages over the last six months. The government is aware of one human turd in the works, but employees are (anonymously, of course) telling the local news about as many as three over the course of a month, in VARIOUS stages of the processing. Some almost made it out into the stores, and that's just what was caught. Also, Latino employees keep getting attacked in the parking lots. The city is all manner of excited about this, but I can find no information. This isn't the sort of thing that the company would release ahead of time, though, as the closing will devastate an already depressed economy. My household is one of the more affluent: we've never been on welfare, and don't need roommates. I don't like the company at all, and hope it closes, but I can't find any information. Are there any activists in Pettis County who might know more?
Rumor confirmed. The Avian Auschwitz is going bye-bye. Now what will we do with all of these unemployed people?
The unemployed people, and the remaining live chickens----I'm happy to see one more of these go bye-bye. Dark ages relic. We had these here in Maine once.
my ex husband and he dad worked at the tysons plant in one of the citys in mississippi and the grandparents had chicken houses too yah it stinks and i have seen the plants from the outside they even some times forget to pick up the blood load and it stinks if they dont takeit with in a few days made me sick . personally the chicks are treated like hell and same w the ppl who take the chicks i agree w the orginal poster
I work at the meat department of one grocery store in a particular large chain (Kroger, if you're familiar with it). Those Tyson boneless skinless breasts are always on sale. I think that item sells, on average, faster than anything else we've got. It makes me feel a little sick to know about this now since I'm usually the one putting it out on the shelves so that customers can buy em up like crack cocaine. We need some modern Upton Sinclairs to really get the word out about this shit. Unfortunately I don't think people really care about this kind of thing anymore. They'll ignore it so they can keep getting their cheap, cheap products without being disgusted with themselves. And I'll keep making them available to customers because I'm not about to go jobless.
avian auswhitz, now that's lulz worthy. but my biggest thing against tyson is that they can't break themsleves of the habit of hiring illegal immigrants. hopefully the ones here illegally will get deported like they are supposed to.we cna't even purge the excess debt off our books. therefore we can't afford to have any unecessary and undocumented human ebings living in this country.
