Ok so for my Fine Arts Survey class we have to make an instrument.. And i was wondering if any of you can give me any ideas of what i could do. It has to beable to play/make noise... And its due Friday. Thanks!
I thought of this badass idea last night when I was drunk, this is the rough Idea. I figure the neck would be braced by the back on one side of the pyramid Playin a crazy pyramid man..
a guitar is probably the easiest... this one time this kid i know took a bunch of alcohol bottles (different sizes) and tied them together onto a straight wooden board nicely. then he put water in each and changed the sound. if you do that, if you have acrylic paint, you can paint the bottles and make it look pretty cool.
Skin Flute! I know I make a lot of noise when someone plays with it. Did I just say that....................
be original! we made those kleenex box guitars in kindergarten you could make something like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabasa http://www.worldmusicalinstruments.com/images/Product/large/KABAC.jpg it allows you to be creative and decorate how you like

oh, and one of my foxfire books has instructions for a gourd banjo, i could dig that out if you want.
if i remember correctly the gourd banjo is a little involved. you could try to make like a gourd ukelele or something, if you make a stringed instrument you should definately make the effort to be able to tune it. you probably wont get a high score with rubber bands and a tissue box, ya know?
make music from a tree!! http://illusion.scene360.com/video/4405/music-made-from-tree/ or do this http://illusion.scene360.com/video/4405/music-made-from-tree/ i know these don't really answer your question but i thought they were cool
go to Petco and buy a dog training clicker (2$) and attach things on it like metal wires or w/e that would resonate and make it sound funny. the clickers look like this:
