Why you chose to go with dreads.

So we all have a reason as to why we decided to dread our hairs,
and well,
we all have DIFFERENT reasons for it..

we all want to get it out to someone,
and everyone always asks the same question..
so Here's your chance to let it out,
and be proud of your reasons.
I want to know why you all decided to get dreaded.


Here's why I got dreads...
When I was about 10 years old I was in the park by myself,
and came accross a boy maybe 7 or 8 years old;
he had long blonde dreads and looked somewhate like tarzan,
he kind of bounced around like him too now tht I think of it...
well, me, being the astranged one of my family decide then and there,
that when I'm old enough,
I want to have dreads..

I liek having dreads,
because it it my own physical form of expressing my individuality..
I wanted to be different,
and well,
that I am.. Kind of the odd one out of my family.. and you know, I love it..
I love getting strange looks from people, and having people ask me questions about my hair..
I love being the only student in my school with dreadlocks.

Anywho, before I babble some more,
again,
what made you decide to dread?

BEcause they look cool

And they feel nice

i think they're beautiful... this is the third time i'm attempting them though. the other two times i backcombed my hair, but now i'm doing it naturally... it's a journey, that's for sure... frustrating... but worth it

i just think it's the best way to have your hair.

 

It is beautiful,
because no two dreads look the same,
they're liek snowflakes really..

I wanted to have em forever, my hair got long enough that I needed to brush it if I didn't want dreads, and I was traveling cross-country for several months. dreads are great for travelers ha

 

I was contacted by the dlaoa(dreadlockassociationofamerica) by my house last year. They said they have been following and studying my every move for the last few months. They said I was a prime candidate for newest member at the dreadlock association of america because of the curlyness in my hair. I usually would have been a tad skeptical with shit like this but I had been huffing gold spray paint all day so I immediately accepted.

 

I didn't dread my hairs... my hairs dreaded themselves. I don't have them, they have themselves. I didn't get them, I grew them. They are power and they lend themselves to me.

Painting with metallics in tunnels has FUCKED me up before...

 

dreads are purty and they serve as a travel pillow

 

and nests for wayward squirrels if you do not have anything else handy

 

my reason is similar.

 

When my mom tried to comb my hair when i was little, i got so frustrated that i cried in anger and ran away. Every time.
Some years later, i was boss of my own hair, and i still hated to comb it, so i didnt. I used alot of hairspray and had a big ass hair, but when you dont want to comb it, it gets nasty. I hadto cut some of it because it got like that. Ive always wanted them done, and i have no regret.
No more bad hairdays, or always

that IS a good reason,
haha they do make decent pillows I suppose,
but my hair isn't quite long enough to use as a pillow..
it's still cushon-y though I guess..

im a loctition and u get more cliemts when yer hair is what yer clients want hahahaha but they loook cool and i hate doing my hair cuz i do everyone elses hair all day!!!!!

 

I just started two months ago, my hair is fairly long so it knots up quick. I'm taking this as an opportunity to restructure my heart into one of love and kindness and to move away from the pain of my past. It serves as motivation which is transferred to all the other facets of my life. I've already quit smoking, I've learned to let things go and just live. It's amazing what one light bulb turning on can do in someone's life. It's a new direction, and like I'm letting my hair figure out how it wants to be, I'm learning from life where I need to be. Easier said than done, but damn it feels good to let go.

 

few reasons, main reason being, as you can see from my profile, i am a motorcycle guy, that being said, every damn day my hair would be a terrible knotty mess, even if i was riding for 10 or 15 minutes, so i just got tired of combing out the knotts. also, i have had every other hair style, from shved bald to mohawks and laong hair, this by far is the best hair style i have ever had!,, oh, and i am just a fuckin awesome guy, so the dreads naturally fit my attitude of awesomeness!

 

this is my favourite reason and closest to my own reasons- totally dig it

 

I did it because I wanted to look more like a tree :xmastree:
