i have some questions for someone who is/has been pregnant before... my boyfriend and i use the withdrawal method [yes, i know, unsafe] even though I came off birth control about 2 months ago. it seems like for the past two weeks i can't go an hour without peeing, and I feel just all weird down in my abdomen. I feel bloated and everything, but I'm about 1 week away from my period. All the symptoms of pregnancy I'm showing are typical of PMS, but I don't usually get them like this. I pee so much that I don't think that even a pregnant woman could pee this much, could it be something else? like a bladder infection or something? there's no burning, so I'm not quite sure. I haven't been throwing up, or having weird food cravings. I just feel bloated and have headaches, pee alot, and my boobs are really sore and keep getting tingly type feelings. This could just mean a growth spurt, but it could also mean pregnancy or PMS.

also, the pressure is in the dead center of my wayyy lower abdomen. and it feels like i can feel something. is that possible at 3 weeks?

i freak myself out just about every month about being pregnant, but the thing is, if I AM pregnant, I'm only 3 weeks or so, since I had a regular period about that long ago. Is it too early to be detecting these signs?

Thanks for taking the time out to read this, and someone please reply!

Ok, first of all, I doubt you are pregnant, but you'll need to wait until your period is late to do a test.

Its sounds more like a urine infection to me, cystitis, etc. If you go to a Pharmacy and get some powder you mix with water.... in UK it's Cymalon or something, that should stop you peeing all the time. The rest sounds like PMS to me, but then, honey, I'm only going by what you're telling me.

But, to save yourself a lot of worry in future, please get some contraception - you will drive yourself insane with this every month!!! :)

Hope this helped a bit! xxx

yes, i really need to get contreception. I was on birth control for a while, but it was $30 a month, and I can't afford it being in college and not being able to pay for much as it is.

my boyfriends mother told me to call planned parenthood since its usually cheaper through them, but when I did they told me to call my gynecologist and hung up on me :(.

    thanks for your reply!

Sounds like a UTI. Alot of stress can also give you the same symptoms. Also there is a new test out now that gives you the results a week before your period. Good Luck.

Can you afford a child?!? Don't bring a life into this world just because you can't afford a pill, buy condoms, if you buy in bulk they are about $12 for 45 of them, that should last you at least a month, and I don't want to hear "my boyfriend doesn't like to wear them". If you're allergic to latex, there are alternatives, basically, there's no reason not to be using condoms unless you want to get pregnant, which it sounds like you don't.

go get a test. The first few weeks you are pregnant you feel slight cramping but not as intense as mentural cramps you may also not want to eat a thing and have no appetitte.

yeah i definitely can't afford a child, and yup, you guessed it, my boyfriend HATES condoms. no, i don't want to get pregnant, and I just asked for advice, not critisism. If you know of any place where I can go to get birth control cheaper then $30 a month, then THAT would be alot more helpful then just telling me what I'm doing wrong. I already KNOW, and I'm already working on fixing it. I don't mean to sound bitchy, I just wanted some opinions or answers about the questions that I was actually asking.

and thanks lynsey, will do. I feel like I'm having menstraul cramps, but maybe I can't tell the difference.

Is there a family planning clinic near your school or home?
I would call around to find out. There is usually a clinic in every town or city that has options for people like us who don't have the money or health insurance to pay for birth control. Look into it. I'm glad you are still using the withdrawl method- at least it's SOMETHING!

I also think you are probably just stressing yourself out because you know that it is less safe to use that method. I used to feel "pregnant" every month because I worried myself to death. I even had morning sickness!! But then when I did end up pregnant.. I didn't realize it until 2 months in! So I do know the real symptoms and it sounds like your peeing is affiliated with the stress abd possibly your cramps as well. If the bladder problems don't stop see if you can get checked at one of these clinics. And wait until you are late to worry, hun. :)

planned parent hood they usually dish out birth control free and you are expected to make a donation. If condoms don't bother you than make your bf wear one that's not fair that you have to worry abou this.

It could be anything from a UTI...to an STD...or yes..you could even be preggo

It is physically possible to have a period (a light one) when you're preggo..especially early on..

regardless... you're playing with fire by sleeping with a dude w/out BC and no condom...

well about the whole peeing thing ah yes a pregnant woman can pee just as much as you are probly more. im pregnant and every 15 min i go pee. but any whoo. wait until your period is a week or two late then go get a test. and well honestly it would be tooo early to even feel anything in your lower abdomen because if you are pregnant the baby is just starting to develope and its not even 1cm big. And well if your pregnancy test comes out negative and you wait for your period to come and it still doesnt than take another test cuz usually it takes about a month after you miss your period to really be accurate on the store bought test. I would recommend E.P.T. for the test. its 99.9% accurate. so good lusk with it all keep us updated.

Early pregnancy symptoms, I'm pretty familiar with those, as I've been pregnant 4 times (I had 2 miscarriages, and I have an almost 5 year old boy and 17 month old boy and girl twins) Sore, swollen breasts, inner labia turns a flushed purplish color, increased "lubrication", nausea, extreme fatigue, lower abdominal cramping (as if you are going to start your period) sensititivity to smells, major mood swings, increase in appetite, frequent urination, a sensation in your abdomen that feels as though you did a bunch of sit-ups, a stretching/twitching in your lower abdomen, and bloating. I think that's about it as far as I can remember. Oh, I did start to have some food cravings and adversions early on into the pregnancies, even before I knew I was actually pregnant.

No, 3 weeks is not too early to be feeling any symptoms. I swear I began to feel pregnant the minute I conceived. *lol*

Like some of the other girls said, you could be having a UTI. I've had those numerous times and they suck. I have to urinate constantly and I have lower abdominal cramps. I always drink a ton of cranberry juice when I start feeling that way and it helps it every time. There was only once that I actually had to take an antibiotic for one, and that was from when I had a catheter in for 5 days after I had my twins.

Try not to worry, worrying can actually delay your period from starting due to the stress. I know it's easier said than done, because I myself had a scare this past month and I thought I might be pregnant again. Not that I wouldn't want more babies, because I would love to, but for me to get pregnant again could be like signing my death certificate. I was very lucky to have made it through my last birth with my twins. Anyhow, I was a mess emotionally. My husband was all laid back about it, but I was freaking out. Normally I start every single month on the 17th, like clock-work, and there it was, the 17th, and it was getting later in the day, and I was thinking "OMG, please no!" I was scared to death. For me, a day late means I'm preggo. But wouldn't you know it, good ol' Aunt Flo ended up showing a few hours later. *lol*

    Much peace...

Until you get checked out all of these theories are about as useless as a screen door on a submarine...GO TO A CLINIC!! But does sound like possible UTI along with effects from coming off of birth control.

Now on a more personal level...Your BF saying he doesn't like condoms is just a bs line...if he cares for you at all than he will wear a condom...if he doesn't have enough respect for you to wear one, then screw him(sorry bad use of words)
Don't YOU risk YOUR future over this guy, who can just up and leave at anytime, leaving you with a child to raise alone.
AND I DON"T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF THAT "But he loves me" SHIT. Sure he does while he is gettin some, we all would.
Bottom line if he really cares about you, and your future, he'll wear the raincoat before getting wet, or HE will just say "NO"
