I agree we are accountable only for our own actions, but we need to think about the consequences of our actions. She may not have any vows to break, but you don't cross people like that. I have been in love with someone who was married but would never do anything about it while he is still with his wife, it's common courtesy
Well, I also won't help a woman cheat on her husband now,(although I will admit it happened in the past once), but that is me upholding values I have. Not putting them onto other people. As Notdeayet said, we have no clue what happened in between them in any way shape of form. They might have bumped into each other in a hallway and just went insane with lust without a word spoken to start it off. He could have told her anything. But even with her fully knowing that he was married, she didn't break any promises or vows or even a friendship (unless she was his wife's friend, I really have no clue). It is about the same as the difference I see in a cop being a thief, and a natural born citizen being a thief... In case someone is curious, I say natural born because I think (but don't know for sure) immigrants do actually make some sort of promise to uphold the laws of their new country?? Neither may be good, but only one of them is breaking a trust they swore to uphold.
This is something we're in complete agreement on. To his credit, Tiger took responsibility and while he seemed to be a tad rehearsed he didn't try to make any excuses. Everyone does make mistakes... does he deserve forgiveness? That's strictly between him and the woman he married. There are far more important things to be reported on though... he has furnished some valuable distractions to divert attention and outrage from where it would be better placed.
I was thinking about this as I was outside getting wood for the stove. It isn't that I don't think she was being rude or even disrespectful, she was... but that is between her and her conscience, not for others to say she owes someone an apology.
Very good point... Turning my own response over in my head- but isn't sex addiction an excuse? Ahhh yes it is! Clever little Tiger. Surely the tabloid media is wise in seeing this story as more important that what the criminals in government are doing because ensuring that I live in poverty doesn't affect me more than Tiger's wood.
Did he actually say he had a sex addiction? That's a total cop out, anyone who has ever had good sex is addicted to it.... lol
Well, the media, just like the politicians, do what is necessary to keep themselves in high ratings... so who is the focus being on tiger really a reflection of?
I don't know that he actually claimed to have the supposed "disorder"... it is a cop-out though. In most cases "addiction" is code for "no self control". We develop self discipline out of necessity- lack of enablers. If people continually covered up for our mistakes we'd most likely never grow. The best way to attract enablers and "co-dependents" is to have a buttload of money and be famous. People do not thrive spiritually when they have it easy.
People all over the world cheat and have many more issues than what he did. But, because he's so damn popular everyone's getting in his shit. He doesn't deserve the crazed stories and negative media attention. I agree, just let Tiger play golf and sport the Nike gear. Leave his personal life alone.
ChronicTom: "sad bunch of puppets we are.... lol " I agree, sad but so true this is for America especially.
like I said cuz he a famous golfer? what about that regular joe that also cheats on his wife? why isnt he on TV?
I couldn't care less about his sex life, but I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest despite all this apology nonsense. Yes, boo-hoo Tiger...you're a billionaire still inexplicably married to a supermodel despite having nailed a baker's dozen of other hot chicks too and probably more. It's just part of the celebrity worship this culture has embraced, though. Idiots with no lives basing their existence around the unimportant trivialities of other somewhat more attractive and/or talented idiots.
