My friend has whats left of a dub that we got for phish on 11/22/09, and hes just finnishing it now. I'm telling him that its absolutly no good, that its covered in some nasty mold, and that he really shouldnt be keeping weed that long. He tells me it makes him feel like shit after he smokes it, and hes not keeping it in anything more than a ziplock baggie. He just refuses to take any advice from me and just keeps telling me it gets him high... the worst part is it was crap weed to beggin with. Am i wrong? Is smoking 4 month old weed any kind of a good idea? He wont take my word for it =\ maybe some outside advice? it just seems real unhealthy
if you store it properly it will be fine.. if its moldy and shitty weed to begin with.. throw that shit out. if its good weed though, and you keep it airtight and let it get some air every day a little bit until the moisture is like completely gone so it will not mold, it will be fine to smoke after four months.. my friend still has 1/2 gram of some super dank NY diesel he saved from a festival we went to on October 9th-12... its not moldy or anything because he stored it properly.. its just SUPER dry and crispy after all this time lol and its prolly not gonna smoke the greatest being that dry, but whatever.. we are probably going to smoke it sunday after he gets outta work.. cause i picked up 2 different kinds of some dank headies tonight, and hes got a couple different types of super nice looking chron himself.. so sunday when hes outta work we are gonna have a headies smoke night.. and probably finish the last of that NY diesel but yeah, in your friends situation (shit weed to begin with, improperly stored, moldy) he should toss that shit right in the trash.. you are definitely giving him the right advice
Some of the nicest weed i have ever smoked was in a glass jar for around 7months, with occasional airings when taking little nuggets out. It was so much better and smoother then the just dried fresh harvest buds... Treat it well, and it will age like fine wine.
i havent actualy seen the bud since the show, so i couldnt be sure its moldy, but under the circumstances it really should be... i split the bag after the show pretty even and i smoked my half in like 3 bowls the next day. i think the situations pretty hilarious, but he gets pretty fucking angered when i tell him not to inhale fungus spores... to each his own i spose
well it's not just gonna get moldy. was it overly wet to begin with? all that happens to normal bud (dank or not) is they get dry overtime. they only get moldy if it wasn't dried properly or you get it wet for some dumb ass reason
