I realize that this reply is a bit late, but you should check out Goshen, IN. Goshen is about 10 miles from Elkhart. It is becoming a more hip place by the day. Farmer's market, food co-op, college town, downtown is waking up and becoming more local. Hope you find your way.... Ben
