for her first time. she said overall she liked it but she also said that she was nervous and anxious about taking it so for a little of the trip she calmed herself down. she also said she could feel her friends energy too since they both tripped. does this ever happen to you? where your nervous and anxious and have to calm yourself down so you dont have a bad trip?
if you're nervous or anxious you should calm yourself down, whether or not you're about to eat a psychedelic. If you're about to eat LSD and you're nervous and anxious, address this. There's no second guessing once its in your synapses. No turning back. Jump into it, if you really want to jump into it. Accept that you may have a bad trip. Accept it! It's ok! Bad trips happen. You probably won't have one, you'll probably have the same experience that everyone has their first time on acid, *wow* try to smile
how does lsd metabolize in the body? i never really understood that. edit: i know it metabloizes in the liver but how does it affect the brain?
I get nervous and anxious pretty much before any trip I ever take. Whether it be ecstasy, LSD, mushrooms, or whatever. Almost all drugs are not so cut and dry when explaining how they effect the brain. LSD does have a significant effect on the neurotransmitter serotonin (which regulates primarily emotion, but also mood and learning) Eventhough LSD is one of the more studied psychedelics, I don't think it's fully understood. I remember hearing that certain chemical messages are being sent to pathways they aren't normally supposed to be going which can cause the mixing up of senses (synthesisia) and over sensitivity to certain sensations. I have my own personal theories on what's going on too without a lot of the neuropsych jargon. I think with most the psychedelics, the lower reptilian mind just realizes it's poisoned which causes many of the sensations, dialated pupils, enhancement of colors, slight jitterniess and paranoia. The primate level of the brain is causing the sped up thought processes and basically trying to to think of ways to escape if need be and the higher level thinking parts of the brain are causing the spiritual and philisophical aspects of the experience.
Qualifying my statements:: I've not tripped that much on acid, maybe 6-8 times.. but i've felt apprehensive anxiety before a few of the times that ive dropped. I feel its understandable, because, first, if youre not accustomed to psychedelics it is a completely foreign mindstate. and, second, upon ingestion, you are locked in for the entire 12 hour ride. thats a lot to commit to. on the doses that ive taken, one minute can feel like an hour+ or vice versa. My guess is that the [anxiety] is rooted in the habitual emotion of your non-self-actualized personality, that tends to pervade everyday interaction/introspection.
hmm interesting... i would think a lot more people would have some anxiety before jumping in. would it be somewhat true to say, the higher your dose the more spiritual it becomes?
Hmmm..... I would say not necessarily. I can't really say with LSD but in my mushroom experience I've taken some higher doses that weren't necessarily more spiritual, yet more intense. Same with LSD really, it depends on set and setting alot. The last time I did LSD was the most hits i've taken and it wasn't my most spiritual experience.
The pre-trip jitters are quite common even in the experienced user, often because of the experience. Somewhat true yes.
I get these if I take high doses, or something new. But that's about it.. I don't get anxiety or panic. I know what I took, I know I'm going for a ride, all you can do it sit back, relax and go with the flow. All I have the jitters for is waiting for the peak to start Best thing to do when you are uneasy is get some good music on, sit or lay down and close your eyes and let the drug come on. By the time you open your eyes after a while, you will be fine.
lol ya your brain will be twisted up in knots trying to figure out "how did this little microscopic bit of something do this to me?!" but yeah, apprehension is caused by anticipation. Go with the flow, you will be able to make yourself comfortable and you will know what to do when the time comes. I say be friends with this person you work with, tripping isnt the only thing you have in common surely.
oh yeah i like her and everything but she is the step daughter of the boss. so i gotta watch what i say and how much i hang out with her. i dont want the dad, my boss to get mad at me for it. and i certainly dont wanna be an influence on her.
I always get anxious before a trip. It usually happens right after i drop a hit. It tends to go away once i start to come up p.s. I'm def with you about seeing other people's energy, or whatever you would like to call it. I personally have seen energy flowing about other people as well as halos/auras around a person. Beauty.
ive tripped about 7 times which is nothing compared to other members on here i wish i could get my numbers up but every single time before i trip i get very nervous an anxious its cause im scared probley an excited an nervous but its great in the you just have to be able to calm down breath an remember your on a drug it will eventually end.
