SALO, or the 120 days of sodom.
like the title states, this is the marquis de sade's 18th. century "masterpeice" however, the movies dirctor, pier paolo pasolini set de sade's classic novel in 1944-45 fascist italy, in the city of salo.

this movie is nauseating, shocking and, depraved.
just like de sade's novel, the movie is nothing but torture and degradtion... it is, also hailed, as one of the best top 10 masterpieces of international cinema of all time!

i must agree that, salo is a true work of greatness!
no matter how vile the movie is... it is a classic.
salo is in the criterion collection of the great classic films.
    :cheers2:

salo, was the last movie pasolini ever directed.
salo cost pasolini his life.
he was assassinate, by several members of the italian fascist party for making this movie.

must we always kill the best among us, when they show us the truth of who we really are?

I've always wanted to watch that movie, but I don't think I have the stomach for it. Some people rate it as the most disgusting and shocking movie ever made.

yeah, it is depraved alright!

yet, none the less, salo is everyday life.
one hell, of a lot of people, who strive for power, are megalomaniacs and narcisus.
they are the ones' whom run and rule the world.
it has been that way since we lived in caves.
i hope and pray for the best, that we can get these people out of power!
if history is any yardstick; i don't think life on earth has a future!
I PRAY I'M WRONG ON THAT COUNT!

    Fantastic film, shocking and desperate.
    Pasolini lives in our memories.
