Anyone ever heard of a "kite" as the term applies to astrology? I read up on it but I need more info, so just post something if anyone gets how the kite thing works exactly.

    Hi there.
I'm new to this forum, and am a novice (at best) in astrology. But I googled "kites in astrology" and found this answer to your question. Hope it helps...

For anyone unsure of kites in astrology....A kite contains a grand trine, with two of those planets joined by a pair of sextiles, such that there is an opposition involved between the planets at the "tail" and "head" of the kite formation. It gives a different energy than a grand trine on its own.

The sextiles, in combinining both a "2" and a "3"-series, have more tension than a trine, and generally indicate "excitement." Then a kite has an opposition, a dynamic energy that forces the individual to seek some balence. The planets along the sides of the kite theoretically are assets that the person can use to develop the energies of the "apex" planet. Sometimes a person has a conjunction at some point on the kite: then these planets would be seen as working as a duo.

In a kite, generally the "apex" planet is considered extra-important for the individual's development. Purists count only planets in kites, not angles, asteroids, or other sensitive points.
