Saw a kid in my seminar class wearing these shoes this morning: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/ He was also wearing a red flannel shirt with a royal blue tie, so I don't think I'll be taking fashion advice from him any time soon, but his shoes were cute at any rate. Edit: this color http://www.rockcreek.com/vibram/flow-mens/
I know they're weird. I freaked out when I first saw them, but if they are as comfy as they sound, I'd wear them... When the price comes down, tho...
he said 'they protect my feet from everything but water' and i thought why wouldn't they waterproof them? thats just dumb
Yeah... I hate when I wear my snow boots to school and forget to bring a change of sneakers... It's just unpleasant for everyone.
FiveFingers have Vibram soles, the same type of rubber used on rock climbing shoes and mountaineering boots. They work well for rock climbing and for walking on boat decks. They protect your feet from sharps such as barnacles. They flex like bare feet and are lightweight, about 10 oz for a pair of the KSO style. Here's a pic of the razor-siping of FiveFingers. Tiny fissures on the sole open up as the sole flexes. It adds grip, much like the prints on skin. Zinetic Pocket Slippers are another type of minimalist footwear. Target and various web stores stock them. They're about $25 compared with about $80 for FiveFingers. They weigh 7.5 oz per pair. They don't have the individual toe pockets like the FiveFingers, but they are lighter and more flexible. .
Ew crocs... I remember the croc revolution and my aunt tried to put me in a pair and as soon as I put them on, I just wanted them off. Something just felt unsavory about them on my feet...
Yeah crocs sucked..I remember especially hating them because my big toenails were kind of long, so they would jab the insides when i walked and lift them! It was the weirdest gross sensation yegh!
haha they are kinda cool looking...but i can see matching toe length to be a bit of a problem...i have tiny feet and i could never wear toe socks, i see that being a bit of an issue haha man that's awesome
speaking of toe socks, do you have any idea how hard it is to find a pair that fit when you're a size 12?
