    Hello.

I have some dried peruvian torch and would like to know if i can ingest it, without any kind of extraction?

I know some use capsules to do it. But is there a catch in doing it this way?
Loss of effect? much more nausea? Or maybe a longer time to take effect?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Yes, you can.

Slightly longer to take effect (very small difference though.)

Slightly more chance of nausea, only because you have more "stuff" in your stomach

Extraction is waaaaaay over-rated. You lose a lot of other psychoactive alkaloids with extractions. The best ways are the traditional ways.

If it were me and it was already dried, I'd coffee grind it very fine, put it in some water, and chug. Much easier than swallowing tons of caps.

    Hello forfun

Thank you for your reply. I think I will do that then!
And, yeah. I had also been thinkin about the other alkaloids. Sad to waste those through an extraction

Sure (I made a separate post about it too)

    Extraction is:

    More difficult
    Time Consuming
Less effective (loss of other alkaloids, yields are lower)
Clearly illegal (as opposed to a very, very gray area with whole cactus)
    Costly
Possibly unhealthy (depending on extraction methods)

I'm probably forgetting some stuff too, but in short, there is almost no good reason aside from plain wimpy-ness of not being to handle the taste. In which case the person shouldn't ingest it anyway.

although an extraction is a step more difficult than tea, i wouldn't say its impossible.
Preparing cactus in any manner is time consuming. I honestly think to sit and watch a tea boiling for 8 hours is more work than pouring some orange oil and basified cactus in a jar, then pulling and evaping some vinegar.

As in terms of less effective, i totally disagree. I have been more dissapointed with teas. an extract has never let me down really. It has been proven through GC/MS data that you do not lose any of the other alkaloids through 69 ron's tek.

An extraction can be cheap as well. a gallon of d-limonene oil is 25 bucks, lime powder 2 dollars, vinegar a dollar fifty. don't get much cheaper than that.

the only reason i can see its worth it to extract besides taste is for reasons of accurate dosing. theres no telling how much mesc is in 2 feet of a random cutting. i bet you every time in that cleaned up pile of 400 mgs i will get very similar results.

you are clearly misinformed about a few things regarding extractions, so don't knock other people's methods due to your lack of understanding.
