I am recently unemployed. I am trying to pick up skills so I can hopefully be able to flex my monetary work around whatever ministry oppurtunity God opens up. I have been wanting to get to my first gathering for years and have felt a leading to serve as a missionary to the rainbow family. This would basically getting to the rainbow events I am able to make it to and ministering and building relationships and staying in continual contact as much as possible. I am unable to be a fulltime missionary due to being married but know that I could definately do part time missions closer to home and I am feeling pulled in this direction. I know not everyone here is a christian or even warm toward it but please try not to be hateful. Just tell me what you think along with any ideas and thoughts you may have about this.
jesus camp and other similar christian-related camps and kitchens and solo preachers are a common sight at every gathering i've been to...you won't have any problems. and as with everyone else, you'll be welcomed with lots of hugs and love. but you might want to watch yourself around the pagan camp...lol
We're doing just fine, thanks. Perhaps you might consider saving Jesus from the Christians? He's been looking like he's in need of a bit of help lately.
Just go and chill with ya brothers and sisters, listen and learn from them what they need and want. Too many of us "missionaries" and "preachcers" seek to force feed ill tasting doctrine to others not being at all concerned in the fact that they hate the taste. If the words of Christ are read in private and the actions of Christ are practiced in public your brothers and sisters walking upon our mother will return your peace.
Good post! I've thought a lot about the brothers original post. I'd like to know what he means by "missionary" If one goes to a gathering to proselytize they'll be tolerated but little will likely happen beyond that. Being duly ordained clergy myself (non-Christian) I never preach my church's doctrine unless specifically asked. The "title" minister (ordained as Minister of Peace) means servant and that's what I do...serve the Family in whatever capacity I can. btw...my shitter digging days are over!!!! YAY!!! I have two suggestions for Brreitsma...serve first and worry about doctrine later and seek out two brothers named Brother Ray and Cooper. These men are two of the finest Christians I've ever met and can teach much about Christianity in Rainbow. Zen
My monetary work up to now has been on a set schedule with very little flexibility whatsoever. I am trying to pick up skills that will allow for more flexibility in my work schedule so I can do more missions and ministry. I am not intending on doing missions and ministry to gain personal wealth as that is misplaced priorities. I don't care if I never make a red cent in the Lord's work. I am doing it out of the love of God. I feel what I quoted above should have explained where I am coming from very well. Missionary work is exactly what I am talking about. Not simply getting to a gathering. I am learning the skills to be more freed up ultimately to attend gatherings and whatever else God has for me.
It seems that without knowing anything at all about me just the idea of what I feel called to do hit a sore spot with you. You seem to have some sensitivities without even knowing how I would approach the calling. Are not ALL welcome at gatherings?
Yes brother I know exactly what you are talking about. Did you imply that you are a missionary or preacher. I know that the messenger has to be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit. The Spirit will guide the messenger to reveal specifically what is the most needed and important truth for the specific audiance. This way it will not be ill tasting but like fresh manner. What is important is sensitivity to the Spirit on the part of the messenger.
One person said "actions of Christ" and another "means servant". This is exactly the right idea. A person does need to get their hands dirty helping out with physical work and practical service where and when needed and not just stand in front of people and address them. That is the problem with too many preachers, not getting along side the people enough. It is also important to build close friendships with those you are called to. This means not just preaching and teaching but conversating about what ever matters are of interest to them.
I was employed at the same company for over seven years before I ended up being out of work against my will. I just know now that being unemployed is the situation or circumstance that God is using to turn my life in a new and different direction. I am going to have a job again as I stated. I am just believing that it is going to be self employment.
Yes, I am a ordained independent servant certified crystal medicine practitioner certified reiki master shaman and most important:brother to all life on mother earth
