i'm in a german class right now and the professor wants us to bring in a german song, preferably with german lyrics (which can be hard to find). i don't know anything about contemporary music in germany. i'd do rammstein but they're not really my cup of tea. and i couldn't find any krautrock that had german lyrics... i was hoping someone knew some shit I didn't. furthermore: rad rad rad folk or psych or something would be sehr fantastisch!!!

ICH WILL! Whether you are aware of this or not, you may have no chosen Rammstein, but they have chosen you.
Unless it has to be contemporary, you have to go with Kraftwerk. They practically invented techno/EDM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHEoMpMvz7A"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHEoMpMvz7A
I cant believe no one mentioned the hugely popular Hoff yet Germany loves the Hoff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKPwFEPsueU"]YouTube- David Hasselhoff - Jump In My Car
Hello, really? Ojeojeoje. Please take him back . What about Joachim Witt or Peter Heppner or Wolfsheim? Herbert Groenemeyer is very popular in Germany, but I don't like him very much .Or Peter Maffay or Wise Guys or Tocotronic, if you like them. Or Rosenstolz. Or search for 'Neue Deutsche Welle', a style that was invented here 30 years ago and now looks... strange. Except if you have a few beers before, then it's a blast . Regards Gyro
A-huh a-huh a-huh...[apologies - that was my Trio impersonation...looks more like Elvis somehow.] The words Neue Deutsche Welle appear at the start of the Da Da Da video...I kind of assumed that it was a reference to the radio station [Deutche Welle]. Obviously not. We live and learn...
Hello, jepp, there are similar named radio stations, 'Deutsche Welle', of course or 'Neue Welle' etc. But 'Neue Deutsche Welle' is the music style. Trio, you seem to be a fan of them , Hubert Kah, Frl. Menke, Markus, Peter Schilling and many others. We were sick of meaningless english lyrics at that time, so we developed this unqiue style with meaningless german lyrics . Regards Gyro
