Gold Hoop Earings for Men?

Hey, I'm new to this forum. A couple of weeks ago my ex girlfriend bought me some gold hoop earrings because she always wanted me to get my ears pierced and thought they would suit me. Now that we broke up... I'm considering piercing my left ear and putting them on. I was just wondering though if gold hoop earrings are considered bit too strange for straight guys to wear. They are about .8 cm in diameter so they are pretty small but I'm in a death metal band and I noticed that a lot of the members of the bands I play with at gigs have hoop earrings but they are usually silver. Also, I have pretty long hair and somewhat feminine features so I don't want to be mistaken for a homosexual (not that I have anything agaisnt them). My friends say that I'd look good on them, but I am not sure... Any thoughts?

Well I am confused as to why you don't get silver, I have silver hooped earrings and it doesn't look gay. But then it's up to you what you like of course.

I will put this out there though. Gold is chavy, and I remember a band called East 17 here in the UK around the mid nineties- they were hooped gold earrings and looked incredibly camp.

But then, to each his own, at least it would be unique. IF people even notice, earrings are only small after all.

Nah, I think a small one like that would look pretty cool. I'm not a big fan of big hoops on guys, but that's just me. (Mainly because when I think of big hoop earrings I like to think of gypsy ladies. lol)

i wear two silver hoops in my left ear, i've never worn gold, just because i prefer silver, but i don't think anything is wrong with it, i've worn up to about 1" diameter, i think it looks cool.
