What is the typical rate that 2-CE loses its potency? What is the best method of storage and how long could one expect it to keep?
I would store it in the same way you store LSD, just to be safe, air tight, light tight, and in a relatively cool area between uses. From what I hear from friends it simply degraded by "being left in the open" to almost a point of inactivity at 40mg+ doses, he claims the only thing he did was leave it on his table day by day. Others report similar cases. When I first ventured into the PEAs, I just kept them in plastic baggies in the fridge. They stayed fairly potent for about a year, but then it really tailed off. I was having to take massive amounts to get a solid trip. Now it's air-tight amber vials in bags in the freezer with a dessicant thrown in. Seems to work a lot better!
Weird i remember reading that shulgin said he stored 2ct7 out in the open for 16 years (i could be mistaken) and there was no potency loss. If you don't have access to vials but you wanna be safe you should just wrap the baggie in tin foil at room temp.
my 2ce is in the baggie, in a mason jar (air tight) with desiccant. and that's in a brown bag (keeps out light) in the fridge. i've had it about 6 months with no noticeable loss in potency. i hope it lasts a lot longer than a year though.
Alright, cool. Thanks guys. One followup, if there any certain preference between keeping it in the fridge or the freezer? Like, is the freezer TOO cold, etc?
no such thing as TOO cold, but the freezer i think is more likely to form condensation, so it's more important to use a desiccant in the freezer i think
i don't think it was 16 years...but a longtime. the longest i've held onto 2c-e was about 6 months, and it was just kept in a bag, in a dark, dry box...no potency loss whatsoever.
definitely do not store T2 in your wallet. had 300mg in there and after a night, it was basically useless.. had to take 100mg to have any psychedelic effect. but the negative effects of a 100mg dose were still present..
