I have never liked Valentines Day, I don't like being told what day I need to be romantic on. We always have 'valentines day' when we feel like it. Boycott Valentines Day!!!!!
Seriously. ...not if you are in a relationship. But, yeah, there is an element of that if you are not careful.
Singles Awareness Day....that joyous(not!) day people in relationships, candy companies, flower companies, and card companies get to make single people feel like crap;-) peace Delfynasa
Valentine's Day ends in; 1) Heartbreak 2) Drunkenness 3) Pregnancy Or any combinations of the three. No exceptions.
well i've never experienced a good traditional valentine's day as i wasted four years of my life with a guy who would rather play xbox than fool around with me and who thought romance was microwaving veggie nuggets and watching him play said xbox.
I love Valentine's Day. We don't usually do much of anything for it, but make sure to spend time together. I don't support the consumerism except for a small gift - and I never ever buy cards. The only problem with Valentine's Day is that focus so much on romance when we think of love. That's where yins problem truly lies, no matter what excuses you make up for it. If you don't have someone to spend time or money on romantically, celebrate love another way. This could include going to an anti-Valentine's Day bash with some good single friends; but still use the day to focus on the love that holds our world together.
Aw, look at you, you big ol' sentimental fool. I really don't see anything wrong with a day to remind us to look around and set aside some time and genorosity for the person and/or people we love. It doesn't mean you can treat these people like shit the rest of the year, however. Don't just do it because you feel obligated. Do it because, "Hey! I love you. Let's do something fun today that involves giant red hearts." Most holidays are all in good fun and are meant to give us concentration to the different facets of our personas: Valentine's Day - love, Halloween - fear, Thanksgiving - gratitude, Christmas - loved ones and faith, Easter - rebirth, St. Patrick's Day - drunkenness, etc.
