well, if most jobs were things that people actually enjoyed doing, people would be doing them for free... the whole point of paying someone to do something is to offer incentive for them to do something they wouldn't otherwise do.
Hello, I would probably do most parts of my job for free if I wouldn't need money to please my land lady and if some other boundary conditions would be the way I like them to be. But you can like your job even if you wouldn't do it without the money, can't you? Sounds like you are knee-deep in protestant work ethic. But don't worry, it's only a phase . Regards Gyro
that's a good point. i do like my job, in that it makes me money while passing the time. if it didn't pay though, i'd be out of there in a second. there are a few jobs out there that are legitimately fun. the competition for those jobs is quite stiff though, generally.
Having a job sucks, but when you don't have parents to rely on it is absolutely necessary. Why don't you learn a trade? A short program that teaches you a trade can make it easier to work for yourself or make more money while you go to college and study what your passionate about.
I guess people get complacent, or lazy, or they aren't motivated or smart enough to get a better job or know that they can. When you put in the hard years and end up hating it, well you've already spend time networking and building relationships and maybe getting through the ranks. it's hard to just leave cold turkey.
