I'm likely moving to the East Bay. How rigorous is the process for getting a med card? I qualify in Colorado, but decided the expense was not a good investment since I'm leaving. Looking for experiences, web links, anything to help me navagate and budget. Thanks!
You shouldn't have a problem. Most of the doc's are just in it for the money, and will give out a card to almost anyone. So if you have a legitimate medical issue you will have NO PROBLEM getting a card in the Bay Area.
The Bay Area should be a breeze. Inyo County - as far as I know, they aren't approving cards there at all yet. google around.
WHAT? It's a state law, yeah? So... I hit the state site. How appropriate that the law was Senate Bill 420. And people say politicians have no sense of humor. In Colorado it was Amendment 20, voted on by the people. Inyo has a process implemented, according to the state health department web site. Mariposa and Sutter and Pending and Colusa is "unknown."
you shouldn't have any problem at all. like crownofcreation said, the docs are in it for the money. about $125 to $200 a person, they make bank from approving people. just have a good reason/excuse that you need it, and you should be fine. i gotta get mine pretty soon here too actually, i just got back to the east bay from oklahoma so im needing to get one now.. how fuckin awesome is it that you can get a club card and be completely legal? amazing stuff.. and about time! and drumminmama, thats awesome! i hadn't heard that yet, bill 420.. haha hell yeah, thats freakin sweet!
