Heard the tool song before I actually seen that performance. I always wondered where it came from.

No way, that last joke is very similar to one on Denis Leary's No Cure For Cancer CD

Very similar set up until the what a coincidence part, way different after that and funnier done by Denis Leary.

I can definitely see why some claim plagiarism, but I think it's different enough, I'll look for a clip of Denis Leary's version of the joke, if any of y'all are interested.

apparently there have been numerous claims that Dennis stole alot of ol bills jokes. just like carlos mencia steals...well...just about anyones act. its hard to make it when you have no talent, ya know?

 

Well, Denis Leary has a lot of talent as far as delivery and acting go - it's hard to know about the writing part. I mean, Rescue Me is funny as hell and mostly original, but you never know how much is him or how much is Peter Tolan (co-writer/creator)

I think however, the persona he created for his comedy is real unique in a lot of ways and awesome and funny. But I've never been a big fan of his actual jokes so much as his opinions and delivery.

But yeah, there have been many claims of that: once Bill Hicks was asked why he quit smoking, and he said "To see if Denis Leary would too"
