my mom hasb't had an english accent since I was a kid but whenever she and my grandma argue politics she suddenly gets one-it's really funny. It's funnier in person because my grandma''s is really strong it's a trip especially after you've been smoking.
heh it is it sounds like it's getting pretty heated...hehe I am laughing so hard right now and I want to go outside but am afraid i am going to bust up when i walk by and than she'll be embarassed so I can't.
i am english but have a dialect (cumbrian if anyone cares) - i get scouse (liverpool accent) when i argue and my sister gets really posh. bizarre...
my mom's from a place right near manchester-widness and my grandma is from near by runcorn so there's is a northern accent. I got a bit of one when I spent a decent amount of time out there but it went away after a few months.
my step dad used to work in both those places - he was a HGV driver. manchester is not far from where i live, couple hours - i love northern accents - i would have to though, mine is pretty strong. northwest cumbrian tends to be quite scouse anyways because of the old shipping links. fascinating eh. lol!!!!!
i'm studying in newcastle at the minute, so i'm starting to take on board a geordie accent. it's nuts, but the closer i get to cumbria the broader my accent gets and i slip into using the slang of my home towns.
Did you finish that paper you were working on this morning? Did they know you had been smoking? That must of been a trip.
When I'm tired my Southern / Maryland accent comes out... I'm told I sound like a hillbilly... Then I punch 'em.
oh your in the lake district morna? you lucky girl it is so pretty there plus the gingerbread there is so good my grandpa is so sweet since my grandma left her home (england) for him when she was in her twenties he always has english goods shipped in for her and the gingerbread at the lake district is one of them.
