if you smoke weed occasionally I think it helps force u into a meditation state, but if you do it all the time then it is a hinderance as it is toxic to the body. Just remember the more medicinal a plant is the more toxic it is as well. I tend to see auras easily when i'm really high. I wouldn't recommend yoga and smoking, I've done it and know people who do, but it just doesn't feel right, but choose for yourslf.

I have never tried meditating while stoned, but I think that if you use weed as a way to meditate you might be really frustrated if you try to meditate without weed. Meditation can be really relaxing and enjoyable (and I'm sure it's awesome with weed), but it can be hard to get into because it is so hard to keep the mind from chattering away. With weed though, I'm sure it would be easier. Just don't expect the same results when you're not high.

Usta try medetation with weed and all that ever happened was I'd fall asleep in short order. Or the munchies and other misc. silly shit would distract me and it just got to be too annoying.

It depends on the state that you start out in.

Say this is the scale with you're mind's quiescence/purity is "X", and weed can change that mind to "Y." So if this is your mind, then smoking will help:

    Total Delusion------X----Y----------------------God

But if this is your mind, then weed will be detrimental:

    Total Delusion-----------Y--------X-------------God

    Make sense?

Either way though, it's generally more beneficial to long term happiness to meditate without external aids.

Weed has always have bad side effects as far as I know. I've heard claims that it helped them at first but in the long run it's ruining the goal of doing meditation after all. It's just ironic.

Smoking weed helps me to reach a deeper level of meditation and peace. I enjoy kundalini yoga stoned.

i pretty much agree with this post...it has benefits until it becomes overused...and i'm sure that's a very fine line.

the last time i gave up marijuana (last summer) was for meditative purposes and also so i could remember my dreams. i felt that the amounts of weed i was smoking, at least three times daily but usually more, was clouding my mind.

that being said i do think it can help put you on a level, but i think that is when tolerance is low and the herb is used sparingly.

Cannabis doesn't help me meditate, but I have used some drugs to assist in meditation. I find I get deeper into meditation with some psychedelics, whether it's that I just haven't mastered meditation or they truly do synergize better I'm not sure. I rarely feel like I travel anywhere when i do it sober, It is still very peaceful and calming though.

Weed is not the way to go to meditate, simply because you don't experience reality throught your normal state, you experience it from behind the weed.

i smoke and meditate, not usually at the same time though.
mainly because i tend to fall asleep and have a harder time clearing my mind while high.

i used to smoke a lot and at first i could meditate on occasion when I smoked, but over time it became impossible to pay attention. now i don't smoke very frequently at all and when i do, i don't meditate-but usually have a realization or two about my progress and life path.
