If you love metal, you hate what destroys it. Like a cancer, bad metal destroys from within. However, it's often quite popular with those who want to be bad boys and like metal, but want to dumb it down to be the same old stuff. Here's a list of bands to hate if you really love metal.

Dethklok? THEY'RE A JOKE BAND! I mean..."Recycled riffs. Moronic pop song structures. TV commercial jingle-like melodies. And bad guitar playing that dumbs metal down to MTV levels"...? That's 'cos there taking the piss!

And Baroness may be "stoner rock" but at least they're taking it to different places, unlike ALL the bands on THIS website: www.stonerrock.com

I enjoy thyat website too, but i would of chosen one of THOSE bands before i chose Baroness...

 

Whoever made that list probably listens to metallica, poison and winger. and Stryper

Though I could argue heavy metal in itself is unironically the worst genre of music as it's the only one with a whole sub-genre dedicated to neo nazi fuckheads

 

I agree with this list almost fully (and love that Pantera won). In fact, I think every band on there sucks with the exception of Rammstein.

I don't really get why Rammstein is on the list (though the article is right about Ministry being better).

My problem with the list is all the bands they didn't include. (Especially Slipknot)

Old Cannibal Corpse are sick.

Necrophagist are a fuckin' amazing band.

Everything else sucks.

again this list just goes to show us that we all are different aspects of the collective mind and thus we will have different likes and dislikes. Certainly this list does not serve my needs so it shall be discarded for I have my own standards and to base mine off another's would be just down right unforgivable.

If there's anything that really destroys metal, it's the creation of bands like Darkness (good riddance!!!!) and to brand 'em as "metal"!!

 

I love The Darkness....i like how they had a rock n roll vibe to them.....

The worst are Slayer (don't be hatin')

Overrated are Metallica (good though)

Underrated, Opeth again, Cradle Of Filth (Midian is awesome), and even early Avenged had a great album in Waken The Fallen.

I would just like to say how awesome Opeth are once more. Anyone else off to any of their 20 year anniversary dates? That's Blackwater Park in full, followed by another set of classics they seldom play- so likely 'The Moor'!
