I don't think so. Would anyone consider Mickey Mouse or Felix the Cat racist? It doesn't really look like they are supposed to be in black face make-up. Its more in the style of black and white cartoons of the 1920's and 1930's.

Animaniacs is in some ways like Rocky & Bullwinkle. Funny and entertaining for the kids but it has lots of subtle things that only adults would get.

 

Lots of shows have hidden meanings you don't catch as a kid. I think that if someone gets offended by it they have the option to turn it off.

When I wrote the post about the Smurfs I was half stoned and trying to make a point in a facetious manner. I think people take this shit way too seriously. Granted I was mildly ofended when I found a childrens book called Memin at Walmart. Memin looked like Little Black Sambo's gangsta cousin. He has the bugged out eyes and big lips but is wearing the baggy pants with the boxer shorts hanging out, the bright colored kicks etc... and I was going why hasn't anyone said anything about this.
