"higher" education who are the college students in the house? what year are you, whats your major, what classes are you currently enrolled in? what do you want to do? grad students please answer too! I'm a sophomore chem major, creative writing minor. This semester I'm taking Organic Chemistry I, Differential Equations, Intro to Writing Fiction and Philosophy of Science. Orgo is obviously going to be hard but I think I can do it. Differential equations is kicking my ass though. Seriously, fuck. that. shit. The writing class is going great so far and philosophy of science is interested but almost all common sense so far. Fortunately the subject matter is very interesting to me. I want go to grad school in oregon when I graduate, and ultimately work with pharmaceutical or energy...depending on where the money is.
Well, I went to a college for a year before I failed miserably at it(literally to a point, I didn't fail out, but I failed enough that the feds cut off aid/loans and no one else in my close family could qualify as a co-signer, so that put an end to that) However I was going for history/political science. Though in my heart I wanted photography, though that's even more useless as a degree then history or political science. Also if there was any art class that required artistic work that wasn't photography I'd fail at it miserably
I got a full ride for tuition and room and board, including 2 plane tickets each year to go home for the holidays, and a 1000$ book stipend every semester from Tulane, however they don't have a Pharmacy school and it's in New Orleans so I'm not sure haha. I am waiting on notifications still from UC-Denver and the University of Illinois at Chicago detailing how much I'll receive in scholarships. My plans as of now are probably shaping up to be UIC though as they have a second pharmacy school now that is opening up next fall in my city like 10 minutes away. That means I'd only go to the actual UIC campus in Chicago for 2 years and then come back to live at home/eat for free while going to school for 4 years. All that while my mom said I'd pay her rent, but it would go directly into a account for me to start putting a down payment on a house . I think that sounds like the best plan personally, and I love Chicago. Now UIC just needs to hurry up and tell me how much they're offering me to go there, I'm guessing quite a bit lol, which won't matter much anyway as tuition + room/board is just a little over 20k a year for in-state and you are literally the most downtown of any campus in Chicago.
i go to Mizzou - first year. undeclared major but possibly going for art...or business (lame, i know) taking: Psych 1000 (fucking retard class) Math 1300 Drawing 1000 (pisses me off at how elementary this shit is) Music 1311: Jazz, Pop and Rock (awesome) pretty light load this semester but it should help me get my GPA up
thats a really sweet deal. dont forget to save half of whats leftover after 'rent' and bills, so you'll have a) a cushion and b) something to match with when you get your 'rent' back. i got promised college and had it rescinded (nobody fucks you like family) and while i have the desire to learn, the moola is just not available. so i learn about stuff im interested in online and in books, self sufficiency, country living, old timey crafts etc. so when nobody cares what degree you have i can at least make you a pair of moccasins and a rug. i firmly believe that such skills will be beyond valuable in the future, even if its only in that i dont have to buy a shoddily made braided rug or quilt, i can make one on my own! plus, in a survival situation livestock make more of themselves, so theres a good thing too. dream big, i say!
Im still in high school but i plan on going to college to be a sonographer/x-ray tech. And once i got that and im doing good i plan on going back for more certifications to do like MRI's and whatnot.
I'm a junior in college (should be a senior) majoring in Spanish. I have a really light load for this semester, mostly because I scheduled my classes late and all the ones I wanted were closed. But anyways I'm taking Intermediate Spanish II, Elem. French II, Social and Political Philosophy, 16th-18th Century philosophy, and Gender in Latin America
Second year at Temple. I was an art major, started film and media arts this semester and love every minute of it. I've never read assignments so willingly before. As for my future; I transferred to film after realizing video art was much more a forte for me than any of the plain boring art they had me doing and after learning After Effects I got really interested in CGI and video effects. I also love to clay animate. Maybe if I cut my dick off and sacrifice it to Satan Pixar will hire me as a mail-boy!
I'm at Adams State College. haven't declared a major, possibly english. possibly music performance if I decide I'm willing to work hard enough for it.
I'm a Graphic Design Major and in my Junior year.I would be graduating this semester if I took 5 classes straight through, but I probably won't be until the Fall.I haven't had one semester off since Fall '07 (including summer). I don't know how I'm still doing this. It's a good excuse to stay in the city though. This semester will probably kick my ass considering I have 5 Graphic classes but I know I can do it. I'm taking Media Graphics, Package Design, Electronic Design, Advanced Typography, and History & Analysis of Graphic Design. They all require projects so this should be interesting, but at least I can build up my portfolio quicker. MY dream job at the moment, would be moving to San Diego and making longboard graphic for Sector 9....or even another one.If that doesn't happen, I will look for a job at a place that fits my interests, which would be working for an organic/veggie or environmentally friendly company of some sort That's so close
Greatest. Life goal. Ever! I was going for graphic design my first 3 semesters so I really dig your plans!
