    i just set the soil/seeds and theres these little almost smaller then fruit fly sized fly things flying around the soil

    There's alot to be said for micro waving or baking soil first. Almost impossible to get rid off only control. Sand on top of soil sticky fly paper light

    Top soil all the way..... but i'm uk garden centres store soil out side and ya know anything can and does get into it. So nuke it.
