If you don't know what Inedia is, its belief that you don't need for to live. And that you essentially feed your body with energy, prana, directly.

Theres been some pretty big wing nuts that have jumped on this notion in recent years. If your familiar with them, it makes the idea sound batshit insane right off the bat. I know, I know.

But this actually has a very strong root in ancient yogic practice and I really cannot get my mind off of thinking, how possible is it?

I'm fairly experienced with energized meditation. I can move energy around in my body to null pain, get rid of migraines, make parts of my body go numb, open the third eye to some degree, control body temperature. And I notice that I can focus this energy upon my stomache and get rid of hunger. Completely. But it is hard to hold onto it and keep it like that. I wonder if being able to hold this energy there, if that is how the ancient yogis managed to feed themselves via energy.

I've heard from sources of certain people doing this that seem more believable than others. But I'm wondering, does anyone know someone who is Inedic? Or experienced it themselves?

Supposedly Sri Ramana Maharshi was so induced into a state of bliss during meditation that he'd go for weeks without eating and would need to be force-fed by his associates from what I've read (so he wouldn't starve). So I don't know how legit that all is but good luck, lol.

It's quite possible, but also quite useless. It's a spiritual parlor trick.

You're better off spending that time, energy and focus finding God/yourself through deep introspection/meditation. Realize God first.
