Agreed! Haha, I think a more fitting term is anti-choice.

in god's eyes, abortion is not a choice. anyways, i support neither the dealth penalty, nor the war. dont get me wrong, i appreciate the troops efforts to defend our lives and our country, but i dont feel that war is the answer.

Given the fact that God performed 2,000,000 abortions last year via miscarriage, the bible-thumpers should be out there targeting the chief exponent of the art

Religious people, bless their hearts (so to speak), just have no idea how silly they sound. They're okay with "god" killing babies via miscarriage. Or a building in Haiti collapsed and killed 89 kids- but the 90th one is alive with a broken back- and someone says "God saved him!!!"

then why dont we all walk outside and kill everyone we dont like? because its wrong. god "kills" (your words, not mine) people everyday. not just babies in the womb, but kids, adults, seniors too. so if thats the case then why wouldnt it be justified to kill someone thats an inconvenience to you? but either way, its not any of our places to judge. we're all sinners, which is why i would never be angry at someone who would choose such a way. but hopefully most would learn a valuable lesson after their first abortion.

    Excuse me.

Who the FUCK are you calling an "abortionist"?

the phrase "pro choice" was coined to carry meaning, it means I support the free choice of someone, so long as it's witthin a humane timeframe, AND not used as a regular method of birth control, to end a pregnancy, because it is THEIR body (and to some extent, the fetus IS them, at that point)

"abortionist" Could refer to one who practices abortion, ie. a doctor, but it can NOT apply to people who support the right for a prospective mother to choose. The same is true of the "pro-abortion" slur that the "pro-life" people have shat out.

I am "pro-life", and I'm also "pro-choice". the "lifers" have been greviously misusing the english language for propaganda reasons.

The only way I'm an "abortionist" or "pro-abortion" would be if I thought that every single fetus SHOULD be aborted. There is virtually no one of sound mind who beleives a single abortion should take place. It's that it shouldn't be illegal either.

Those who operate within the law being shot at, bombed (yes, there have been christian suacide bombing attempts on abortion clinics in the US) and the like, is terrorism. No other word for it. If you support the murder of a doctor, you are, by definition, an extremist and terrorist. And no matter what color they are or what imaginary friends bidding they do, I cheer when a terrorist takes one between the eyes.

    //extreme rant.

first of all, every one was discussing this matter maturely and openly, so there was no need for your language/attitude.

second of all, im really not sure if you misunderstand me, but i was in NO WAY WHATSOEVER justifying the murder or murder attempts toward the abortionists. i said nothing to indicate this at all, and in fact i indicated the exact opposite, if you would take the time to clearly read all my posts in this thread. or at least make sure that you didn't take anything out of context.

It sounds like in God's eyes, abortion is a choice. It is the choice of heaven or hell. I am not religious, but it seems to me like if it wasn't a choice, then it wouldn't happen all the time. But it does. I suppose what you must be saying is that if you want to get into heaven or if you want god's approval, abortion is not an option.

But I don't know. I hate that most everyone who is anti-abortion brings god into the argument of whether or not abortion should be legal. Our country is supposed to not make laws that are not based upon religion. So if abortion is going to be banned, it should not be based upon the fact that 'god doesn't want you to.'

actually, america was the safe haven for those who wanted to practice christianity, not those who wanted to practice anything (from what i've been taught anyway, that also differs from person to person, i guess depending on who your history teacher was). and i guess god gets brought into it because its murder, and most christians see that.

but i do see your point, for all those who do not believe in god, it would be strained to say 'because god doesnt want you to'. but thats the opinion, and supported belief of the opinion by some of those who support it.

anyway, i've expressed all my beliefs on the subject, and i have no need to argue them. having no intention to try to sway anyone's belief, though i feel thats the way this is going, i no longer have any more to say on the subject. this was however, and enlightening discussion. :)

i think that abortion of babies being legal is a good start but we will not truly be free until we are allowed to abort people regardless of their age at all times

In God's eye's Sabbath breaking is not a choice but the majority of Christians break the Fourth Commandment on a weekly basis.

The Founding Fathers intended our country to be a safe haven for all faiths.
Most of our Founding Fathers were Deists and Ben Franklin stated that the Freedom of Religeon should be so broad that Muslim clerics could be welcomed to our shores. The Founding Fathers also believed in Church/Separation and clearly stated in the Treaty with Tripoli "....the government of the United States is by no means founded on the Christian Religeon.

Im going by what The Founding Fathers said not by what some history teacher taught.

this is true. all commandments are broken on a daily basis. doesnt mean that it makes them any less wrong.

Yes, but you must practice what you preach. I didn't see you mention any commandments, but maybe the previous poster saw something I didn't? Anyways, it seems like if you say it is okay to break one commandment, then it devalues all the commandments (or at least should stop people from using them as an arguement for things... haha, no, I don't think you should go kill your neighbor or tell your parents to fuck off)

So are people who are for abortion anti-life, then?

Can't we all just agree that there are certain circumstances where abortion is necessary, and certain circumstances where it isn't?

What I can't get behind is the whole 'women's right to choose' idea-- if you're selfish enough to get an abortion simply because you got pregnant when you should have used a condom/birth control, you should probably go all the way to full sterilization.

I don't buy the whole 'they're just kids and they didn't know what they were doing'-- seriously-- everyone alive in the western world today has been bombarded with 'safe sex' messages by now, so it's the kind of thing where you really should have known better... even if you're basically still a kid, you should know. At the very least, you should have the baby and put it up for adoption.

On the other hand, if you were raped or had an accident that hurt the baby and it will be born in agony, or something like that, then I think it's okay.

Anyway, this doctor could have easily been a complete douchebag-- anyone who agrees to perform multiple abortions on high school kids using it as a kind of birth control (just speculating here-- this happened in my high school) and can still sleep soundly at night has something seriously wrong with them.

    Just my opinion, of course.

I think this is a good idea, actually.

There's no need to go into the gruesome details with kids that young... but there's no rational reason for sex to be this horrible secret that no one talks about. On the other hand, the fact that everyone is so hysterical about pedophilia nowadays means you'll probably have a hell of a time finding a teacher who would be willing to teach it.

And teaching kids about homosexuality early on is just a good idea... chances are some of them have older brothers/sisters who are already talking about that stuff and it's better that they're given a positive opinion of it all before it becomes a way to insult someone on the playground. It definitely shouldn't be the huge deal that it currently is...

No. Again, anti life would mean that I wish death upon fetuses. This is not the case, I simply support the choice of the mother to terminate the pregnancy if it's sufficently early and if it's not simply lazy birth control. Pro-choice is a descriptive term, it desecribes what I feel about abortions and choice. Pro-life is a generic sounding term that means you support life.... ok? so do i.... Just not the life every impoverished teenage undereducated pregnancy statistic.
