what sins do you struggle with?

Desires aren't sinful. Immoral sexual actions are. I think a lot of people struggle with resisting the temptation for sexual sins.

 

true, but my sexual desires plaque me beyond normal. and i often act on them

 

ONly sin to struggle with is anger. Other than that, one can love one self as a sinner as well as a sensual nubile.

 

anger is a sin?? How can an emotion be a sin it's not like most people control their emotions (women in general)

Sometimes I steal random things from grocery stores, not very often at all though. I can't really think of any other sin I regularly do. Is driving fast a sin? Is breaking the law a sin? Because smoking weed isn't a sin I don't think and that is illegal.

 

its the intention of your heart. im not so sure that anger is a sin, but it counts for what i was asking for, because from your anger you may make angry decisions. you're supposed to give your anger and other negative feelings and thoughts to god, so to speak. also, i think that thinking angry thoughts would be considered a sin, because it is said that if you commit murder in your heart, you have so committed murder. the same is said about adultery and i think it would apply to any kind of sin. also, an common example of internal sin is jealousy. thats something more like an emotion. i dont really believe smoking weed is a sin either, but i believe god wants us to rely on him to get a supernatural high, rather than using weed.

 

Of course, acting upon anger is a sin. I went to a communist meeting the other day. That no longer is as much a sin as in the, lets say, eighties:coffee:.

 

As said earlier, anger's sinfulness is inherently dependent on the situation and actions afterward. Anger can often reveal what is important to us. Jesus was truly pissed when he cleansed the Temple, it showed us how important it was to him.

 

thats the story that came to mind when the question came up i bet it would have been scary to see someone so influential and powerful become angry that way.

That's so true. Anger itself isn't bad, just how that anger is displayed I think.

I really have a lot of anger when others cheat on their gf/wives... I know some buddies that do it, tell me about it, then tell me later on that they are going to do it again... It's so hard at this point to hold my tongue but I try anyway, but inside I'm really steaming...

Actually, the 2nd one is me too. Luckily (unluckily?) I'm too shy to pursue.

 

I am an alcoholic who gets easily frustrated with myself...I am becoming a recluse and falling into a depressive state (very self-involved)...any prayers would be greatly appreciated good people.

 

May the loving and healing light of the Lord settle into your being and make a home of your body, that you might be able to see through the illumination of Christ the sacredness of your being and all that the Holy Lord has in store for you. May you find comfort and solace in the understanding that through you the Lord will do great things, but not because of self but because of selflessness. May you awaken to the destruction, truly awaken to the destruction your alcoholism is causing for yourself and those within your life. May you see the suffering that your drinking brings upon them as they care deeply for you and love you more than you understand at this moment. May your soul open up to the ultimate reality that you are lovable, and that love is sacred and powerful. May you one day understand your worth in a way that the current moment is not allowing. May Christ travel to you through any means necessary for you to find the peace and comfort that you are looking for. May you understand that only in Christ will you find this peace, not in the bottle of any alcohol. May you realize that Christ has kept you safe because He has a message of redemption for you and is longing for you to reunite with Him instead of hiding your pains in drinking. May your soul blossom and your being fill with light and Christ and his angels come to prepare a dwelling space inside of you for Him to dwell throughout the rest of your days.
